Looks like scheduled to me. Charter flight numbers have been traditionally using 4 digit numbers beginning with 8 or 9 like 8231 or 9345.

They really are a shower. The public told S20 flights would be released in October via 2 emails (assume they had subscribed to the BE newsletter), now only to be informed that it will be some time in November. Lots of punters already stating they cannot wait any longer and have booked via other airlines. VS have definately got a job on their hands to turn this lot around!!

Better to get the timetable right than mess around with it at a later stage and cause further inconvenience.

They are going to have to get their act together if they are going to start feeding longhaul services. These will be booking 10+ months in advance.
Sure, some leisure travelers will book 10 months in advance, business passengers more like 10 weeks or less. I suppose it all depends which market they are targeting. One thing is for sure, there's nothing to be gained by rushing a schedule to market and getting it wrong, thus losing more money, when the objective is to turn the business around.

They can also be reaccommodated quietly and without penalty this far out. If you make a schedule that doesn't work and needs to be adjusted frequently at the last minute due to ambitious turn around times or utilisation then you may end up paying expensive compensation due under EC/261.

I suppose the cuts to Spain was expected, considering they're focussing on short haul UK domestic and intermediate European continent such as channel Islands, Netherlands, France etc.

However, this reinforces the case for investment in our runway to ensure we can offer more choice for passengers. We’re having discussions with other airlines to backfill routes and growth plans continue unaffected. FP

Not sure I Understand the MAN TLS being dropped, always appeared full to me - often with Airbus folk. To start MAN / Stuttgart up instead on the face of it appears a bit random (?) One assumes they know what they are doing :-)

Stuttgart - MANCHESTER- Boston/JFK/Orlando and reverse spring to mind.
Delta have been at both Manchester and Stuttgart for decades however the markets have changed somewhat .
Connect the two and retain some of their loyal traffic at least using their UK partner branches as a possibility perhaps ?

Since the suggestion Virgin could use Manchester as a ‘hub’, I thought that secondary cities in Europe without or with little long haul service could be a good start for a ‘regional carrier’. Stuttgart certainly fits within that - but also Luxembourg .

The announcement says this is the first phase of summer flights to be announced with further to be announced soon so it’ll be interesting to see what else they’ve got planned.
