Flying Club will remain (otherwise how will status work?). What is going to happen is that Virgin "points" will become a common currency across Virgin brands. I am not sure it has been confirmed that Virgin Red would be retained - the original plan was to ditch it.

Because you would build status on Virgin Red...
Albert, did you not read back a few posts before asking that?
It does indeed appear to be an extraordinarily bad piece of Customer relations/comms, but indications are that flights after 28th March may be released before the end of the week.

I think the key point in that article is about Southend.
It would seem clear that Flybe have been trying to move the route to SEN and then use LHR for another domestic.
Sadly, it's only a matter of time until SEN becomes the London terminus.

Lots of things in favour of Southend except onward travel. Fine if you want to go to Liverpool Street and London but anywhere else it seems to be a pain if passengers want direct travel without heading into London first.
NQY are still answering questions on their FB page within the last 24hrs saying that "London" flights after 28/03 will be released before the end of this week
(read into that what you will!)

How much extra time to fly NQY-SEN instead of NQY-LHR from doors closed to doors open ?
I'm guessing maybe an extra 20 mins to cover the extra distance, but perhaps offset by the longer time taxiing and waiting in a stack for LHR so perhaps not a major difference...

Onward Connectivity is the main issue here
SEN is brilliant as an additional London destination. However LHR & LGW is and always has been the needed London airport ex NQY.
cornwall is a holiday destination for many. Onward connectivity is a huge issue for many

You can end up in a hold still.. but less likely. All London traffic subject to additional controls at busy periods, not exclusively Heathrow.
Fair point. So how much extra time might be reasonable for a NQY-SEN flight compared to NQY-LHR from doors closed to doors open ? Granted all kinds of things come into play but publishing a schedule with all kinds of "well it depends on whether ATC are having a good day or bad day" isn't going to work :-)

I'm really struggling to understand why for a route that will feed onward connects, longer routes that have a longer lead time, Flybe wait until this stage to add flights, gives me a sense that they were evaluating options and holding out for an alternative.
gives me a sense that they were evaluating options and holding out for an alternative
.....lets move this route to Southend....we can use the Stobart fleet out of a Stobart Airport....we'll save a sh1tload compared to LHR ops and we can combine this with the other domestic routes we are starting
.....but the people of Cornwall will reject that having already had their route shifted from LGW on a jet (which loads of them loved) to LHR on a fast turboprop (which they were starting to love)
.....ok, so what's Plan B?
Ok, a bit of dramatic/artistic licence, but I couldn't have made it up any worse than Flybe appear to have done for real here.
