Southampton-2
(did Air Europa use them to Palma and Ibiza? or was that long ago with 400 series)
It's also the Boeing landing distance that has far more issues - the 738 and Max has very much faster approach speeds over the A320, and has 4 little wheels with not so wonderful brakes.
That is why the 738 does not go often to GIB for instance, nor to SOU.
It has now and again been seen on the odd charter or a Lapland flight at SOU.
Re the derates on the engines for the A319
They are derated thrust compared to the same engine as used on the heavier A320 application (both IAE and CFM/GE variants)
They are basically the same engine with chip technology allowing the max thrust to be optimum for the aircraft type. (saves wear, tear and fuel)
A high thrust version is available for the A319 but afaik EZY did not specify this - despite having the HGW version seating 156 pax with 2 extra overwing exits added.
The A320/321neo has a completely new family of engine types.

W18/19 Summary
Usual summary is below. Please let me know of any corrections needed. I have been over the seasonal xmas reductions in more detail before, so the lower frequencies are more accurate (and appear lower) than before, although in most cases only apply for 2-4 weeks around the xmas/new year period. Nonetheless, it looks to be fairly quiet compared to the past couple of years.

Further to my post 840, westbound on M27 a few days ago, as a passenger, had chance to look at the vegetation versus 02 approach lights situation -absolutely horrific! Can any aircrew give an idea what, if any, of the approach lighting is visible? I would speculate that at best there some large gaps. Just how do SOU get away with such a safety related issue?
RW20, ref your post 920, sorry for delay responding, would not speculate other than expect work to be done in cooler months to minimise impact to any temporary reduced declared distances necessary to accommodate the work.

Regarding the approach lights to 02,I believe I'm right in saying that RNAV LPV approaches occur now on this runway, shorely there is an advantage and possibility that there should be more Centreline lights and crossbars then the short Centreline and one crossbar that exists at the moment?

I've rechecked the CAA website, as I am now a member of the General Public it would appear that there is no provision for reporting of this issue. I would be grateful if you could identify the relevant provision for me to report, and I'd seriously consider doing so.
Not that the current "Simple Approach Lighting" (to use its correct technical term) system is inadequate, the issue that I've highlighted impacts on the RVR minima for flying the approach. If the current approach lighting system is not CAP 168 compliant (for a Simple Approach Lighting system), due to all or part being obscured by vegetation, the RVR minima for the RNAV and other non-precision instrument approaches for runway 02 must be raised as it will consider that the runway has no approach lighting.

Report a safety concern
What is a public safety concern?
A public safety concern would usually be a result of having been involved in or witnessed an incident, or becoming aware of an issue that has or could affect aviation safety and has the potential to cause, or actually has lead to, harm to the public.
