After one flight delay company named MAN the 3rd worst in the world, a different flight compensation company has rated MAN the second best UK airport after NCL:
Luton voted nation?s least favourite airport, Newcastle tops poll - Luton Today
Just shows its all about personal preference.

SEN/MAN would seem to me like the most random of routes, BA axed LGW/MAN, Little Red LHR/MAN, easyJet LTN/LPL as a reasonably comparable route, eastern and BA Express STN/MAN and now Stobart see this as a viable route...
...are there no other points across water in near Europe that could work instead? E.g. Ostend etc.?

I find it crazy that we are back in a situation that we have 3 London destinations back at Manchester, long after people thought the improved West Coast railway would kill the route off.

It may be very useful as a WAG transport between Brentwood and Mobberley.
Oh and quite few SME enterprises that actually make things have bases in the North West, Essex and the East End.
Know quite a large number of construction and ancillary trades personally that commute between Essex and North West regularly
Further currently the City will be one direct train ride away/Certainly quicker than via Slough Windsor and Hounslow Regional.

Southend without doubt serves Essex and again as previously pointed out - the Eastern industrial areas of the capital quite nicely.
Dagenham, Thurrock Basildon are heaving with SMEs that make and sell real things into the heated London economy, and many have their manufacturing in the North West .
There ARE real and tangible business opportunities if marketed correctly

Southend to Liverpool Street is about 50 mins on the train with a regular service and just a few minutes from Aircraft to Platform.
Liverpool is in the heart of the Business district of the City.

Will work for me perfectly to get to the east side of London and my head office. At the moment its down on Virgin train to Euston and then trek over on various tubes to Stratford. Now I can fly to SEN, earning my avios points, and one train straight from the airport to Stratford. Excellent news, so hope the service will work, the times are perfect

According to the flyBe website you can spend and part-pay with Avios, but not earn them on Stobart Air operated flights. Seems daft to me, but thats what they are saying.

But why would you bother Wigan to Euston on the train is 2 hrs much faster (and cheaper if you book early) than travelling to the airport, security, wait, fly and then a 50 min train journey
