The details were announced a few weeks ago. VS127/128 takes over the Delta flight in the summer, and Delta continues to run in the winter.

100,000 pax per day.

Expect a 100,000 passenger day imminently, perhaps this Friday. That will be a record for MAN, save for the 2003 UEFA Champions League Final at Old Trafford.

97,285 pax (off 638 ATMs) was set just last weekend and so with the start of the school holidays the 100 Grand should topple. 700 movements, including GA, are expected on some days this summer.

Quite an acheivement!

On the subject of extra pax, Finnair using the A319 most of August on the evening flight, A321 on 15th (possibly only the second visit of an A321 of Finnair since they got them).

Seems people really want to get away for a week or 2!

I visited EGCC recently and I couldn't believe the extent of the recent land-take that has occurred for car-parking. Surely the airport management should be investing heavily in multi-storey facilities?

Isn't that exactly what they are doing at the initial stage of the Transformation Project?

Maybe, but why hasn't it been done already? Many acres of medium-grade agricultural land are now covered with tarmac and lamp-posts.

EGLL had 2 huge six-level MSCPs when BEA were flying a/c with red-squares on the tail-fins.

We have to remember that Manchester Airport is a business at the end of the day. It needs to make money to keep it's investors happy. Maybe in some places like the middle east, billions can be spent on airport transformation, without having to worry about how new infrastructure is going to bring in money in the short term. This certainly isn't the case at Manchester, where generating income in the short term seems to be high on the agenda, and for good reason.

Don't forget that there is also a bit of a planning game going on whereby MAG want to get these areas being used as car park from a 'usage' perspective on the planning side which could later be changed to something else.

Note that Airport City has multi-storey car parks proposed within it but these will come down the line.

Now that new parking capacity has been built, it's time to start extending the apron.

I went to a meeting with GT some 30 years ago. He said the multi storey behind T1 was worst thing that they ever did allowing zero room to go backwards to extend terminal!

It depends how far back you are referring to when you said 'recent' in your earlier post, but the only car park I can think of in the last 12 months is the one that has recently appeared between the A538 and the road to the Viewing Park. Not sure what they are using it for, but I don't think there can be much turnover of cars as I rarely see a queue coming out of that road when I drive down the A538. Before that you need to go back around 2 years for when the first part of the car park under the 23R final approach started coming online.

June stats.
A more detailed breakdown of the June stats now on the MAN web site,

http://mag-umbraco-media-live.s3.ama.../june-2016.pdf

The increase in actual pax in June compared to June 2015 was 207,600
Scheduled International up 383,000 and charter down 164,000.

Good to see Freight still rising at 10.87%

On a negative note - our ORD cancelled again today. Tech problems as usual or weather?

That particular car park hasn't been completed yet as far as I'm aware, so, no wonder you don't see many cars coming off it?

The other new car park that recently opened was the one under the approach to 23R, I think that's less than 12 months old IIRC.

AA54/55 cancelled again! Not weather related. Looks like MAN at the top of the drop list for when (often) 787 fleet has tech issues.

There have been a lot of cars parked in it over the last few days, and definitely when I went past this morning.

Opened early 2015.

Pedant mode off!!

That's the new staff car park to replace "staff west" which I'm calling "The Clough" in the hope it will get called that

Part of it may be open then, went past a week or so ago and certainly wasn't finished then, they were still filling in the hardcore rubble, so seems like they may have steamed along since then!

As said, that is the new staff car park though, so, is needed to free up the land for apron space.

I'm getting confused here. The new car park between the A538 and the Viewing Park was not intended as a public car Park. It was to be a new depot for the buses used for busing and for as I understood meet and great ( both of which were being displaced by the TP). It may also be for staff . That is according to the planning application. Also access was not to be off the the A538 as a general rule. As the general public as opposed to those working at the airport in some form or another do not need access to the new facility access was to be via Pinfold Lane by means of a keypad type barrier.

Considering that ORD is really the last US departure of the day from MAN AT 13.15, how are AA dispersing the pax? Ironically, ORD has probably been the busiest of the 3 AA flights over the last couple of months and has been near full some days more recently.

I guess some could be shuttled down to London if there are seats available. There is a tea-time flight to ORD from LHR I believe, although many of the MAN pax would be flying on to other destinations from ORD so could be transferred onto JFK flights from LHR for example, of which there are plenty. If pax are simply told to come back the next day, that might explain why certain flights have been extra busy, but if the following day's flight is already busy, what then?

More disappointing though if MAN is top of the drop list.
