I'm sure you're right, although SQ is an early departure so it may depend on what time the second MCO arrives for example. Then there's PIA, but I assume that's a B772.

Thinking of remotes, are those 7 remaining stands (217-219 and 24x-25x) still going to be used for car parking next summer?

Looks like flybe are starting to play around with the NQY-MAN route. Seems they have added a Sunday rotation currently instead of the second Saturday from last year. However it runs from Feb-Aug currently by the looks of it.

Wouldn't surprise me to see more of these second services added on this route.

VS

The VS website is saying that the LAS flight operates on a 346 until 1/9 then it goes to a 747.

If only for a short period it will be nice to have a 333,346 and 2x747 in a the same time

I suspect there is a short time where a spare A340-600 between the B787's coming online and the A340's leaving, hence the jaunt up to MAN.

I would expect the aircraft to position up the night before (morning slots are like gold dust at LHR to use on positioners), and position back down on Wednesday evening.

Given the chronic connections from the West Country I'm supprised there have not been calls for better connections thru Manchester re FlyBe.

I would have thought a twice daily to connect with the other domestic feed thru MAN would have been a real runner !

I see we are back on there is the no premium demand from Manchester bandwagon from certain parties.

I thought by now we had put that particular subject to bed.

I hear you brother.

Iv been suggesting it for a while. I really don't see how twice daily isn't achievable especially given the loads are regularly topping 4000 a month from an 8 weekly NQY-MAN

I had exactly the same thought. No doubt some people would still try to argue that most of those sitting in J class on our EK and other long haul flights are upgrades, or using points or miles, or staff, and not paying a proper fare.

According to seat guru, the configuration on the A346 is 45/38/233 which I agree is a lot of Upper class seats to fill. Nevertheless, it has been known, for example, for certain rather well paid footballers. media gurus and families to use our MAN-Vegas flights. I wonder if they travel Y class - difficult one that!

Why did you day "no premium demand"? There is of course substantial paid demand and I welcome it. Don't put words in people's mouths please.
If you get time, google the volume of Upper Class in the LHR based A346 fleet versus the Leisure Fleet of B744s, given LAS is a leisure fleet route, the A346 is.....premium heavy. Look at where in terms of floorspace, Upper Class ends

It does appear to be an end of life adventute for a fleet on it's way out. However you will not that United and American see no market for First at MAN and offer accordingly.
It's no different from BA not offering First on a lot of the B772s out of LHR, one must anticipate the balance of premium vs economy in each market. But yeah, good post, misrepresenting (again) what was said. No need to be so chippy!

Can't help but be amazed that VS can fill 2 x 744 every day to MCO !

We're going with them in about 15 days time...but is such an expensive holiday...and despite how good Orlando is I still really struggle to see how they fill all those seats every single day, as I say it's quite amazing really.

Great to see VS with 4 flights some days, hope there's more to come from them.

Now where's my camcorder, park maps & mickey mouse ears...

Can we get back to the facts. The 346 is a stop gap and does 6 flights it then goes to a 747 as per the rest of the MCO and LAS flights.

I am unsure of your point.

Next summer Exeter will 4 flights per day during the week and Newquay will have a daily flight

We used to have two daily to Plymouth before the airport was closed.

Bristol could do with flights but which like Plymouth used to be at least twice per day but the problem there is said to be the hourly train

I think im saying that both an morning AND evening service would be a good match up. FlyBe tend to do Double daily from most spots, I think the new BOU falls into that bracket ?

If I were in the NQY area and doing busines in say Scotland going up in the morning but being unable to retun later that day "might" be an issue !

EK018

Does anyone know what's happened to today's EK018? Airport website says its scheduled to depart at 18:30 this evening and Emirates say it's cancelled? Does anyone know when it will depart.

Also, do Emirates only use the A380 gate at manchester and if a flight gets cancelled, where do the other Emirates flights park?

Many thanks and have a good Christmas guys!

A6-EEC arrived nearly 7 hours ago, and is still in. Crew spotted an engine fault and fire crews were called, but not needed. Technicians were working on the fault last I heard. No idea when it will leave, or what has happened to the pax.

There is another remote stand which can take the A380, think it's 62. All Emirates flights use Gate 12, but if there are 2 A380's in then the Pax are bussed from Gate 20

They can't that's why there are (and have been) a lot of cancellations, the 73 went out the other day with 60, yes 60 pax on board!
