Saudi increase for winter was only loaded 2 months ago, so, likely summer increase is not loaded yet
The pax figure shown for Jeddah is 1,488, which on 26 sectors (if all flights operated) equates to an average load of only 57. October was 3,417 which wasn't great and September 4,648 which was fairly decent.
I guess freight carried is also a significant factor but is there anything special why November pax should be so low?

Jamiie,
MAN is definately at least 8 based next summer apparently. Ive not seen it myself but Coms in crew room at MAN said 8th based arrives in June.
I think it will be a case of wait and see, it wasnt that long ago some posters were full of doom and gloom that there was going to be next to no growth for S15, since then a fair few routes and extra based aircraft have been announced.

If you were to include all non based flights MAN could easily be the equivalent of 10 based.

Somebody need to tell these *** we have a World class airport here in Manchester !
Airports Commission report says expanded Gatwick would deliver more competition, choice & lower airfares for consumers | London Gatwick: Obviously
...that said if they do go with expanding the "waiting room" rather than the "Doctors clinic" it will be construed by some London Fanboys as an utter disaster !
Certainly better for MAN than an expanded LHR where all OUR airlines operate !
Skippy will end up in resus if he sees this daft decison !

Also this has next to nothing to do with MAN.

Here's the list of recent major airlines having left LGW for LHR, some for the second time.
Delta
Continental
US Airways
American
Korean Air (again)
Air China (again)
Can you explain how expanding the place they choose not to fly from is a profit maker? I mean have a go. I'm curious to see what you know they don't. They're not "yours" anymore than they were Gatwick's.
In fairness Qatar are going back but like EK and EY, they're fairly exceptional in commercial terms. It's daft to keep flamebaiting a North/South argument, for all your words mate, there's not a whole lot stopping more legacy carriers flying out of LGW/MAN today, never mind after an enormous Mirabel like expansion plan.
So yeah, what's the commercial gain for the airlines of a bigger LGW given it occasionally sits half empty much of the time even in summer outwith the based waves. (No, it *really* does). This is the Manchester thread btw, you need to be in here : http://www.pprune.org/airlines-airpo...twick-122.html

Bagso there's no point in debating with you on this one as you happiliy ignore the commercial realities.
If it's me that's got the wrong end of the stick, apologies.

All depends of your definition of World Class - from an aesthetic/facility point of view or by terms of destinations/carriers?

Actually the loads are better than that, apart from the first day, they've been full on most other flts, Tuesday and Thursday full both ways. Not good for staff travel! A few have not got on, staff that is. makes you wonder why CX waited so long!! And what impact it has on the LHR flts, I guess when the holiday season finishes there may be a bit of a change, will have to wait and see, then it'll be CNY!

Yes, SV pax loads did look a bit thin in November, but today they sent a -300ER and it went out with 353 on board! I don't know what, if any, seasonal trends there are on this route, it hasn't been running long enough to establish that. Most flights going East from MAN this week have been chock-a-block. Turkish sending A330s too.

Astute as ever Mr MANFOD, glad some of us are keeping up !
For avoidance of doubt on this one I actually agreed with you Skip, thats "agreed with you"
Did you "skim" read my last making assumptions prior to reading the text or jump the gun ?
You seemed to be contradicting the very points that I was making on your behalf !
And yes it has a lot to do with the Manchester thread when claims of this nature are made ,sorry I may be alone but I utterley begrudge this total arrogance held by LGW, dare I say their pomposity to suggest there are only two World class airports in UK.
And lest we forget LGW an airport which should perhaps be administered by the Environment Minister (re ...Flood Defences) rather than Aviation !
Was this not an airport whose terminal was under 3 feet of water 12 months back ?
Best they try to some accomodate A380s rather than some models of Stingray !

The choice about the future of the UK's avaition should have bugger all to do with a willy waving competition between LHR, AMS, FRA, CDG etc.
It should be about what's best for the the entire UK, and I'd have a hard time accepting that the UK becoming even more Londoncentric would be best for the entire UK.
