I was pleased to read that it seems the Adria flights are being reasonably supported so early into their new program, and also please that Skywork will continue at Southend. Hopefully next year EZY will add a 4th aircraft and new destinations, and maybe Stobart will succeed in attracting a new operator (I wonder if the office bods have contacted Air Malta/Malta Holidays, etc). Out here in Luxembourg rumours have it that Ryanair are negotiating with management to operate from here next year, but they want a different handling agent and parking bays where pax can walk to/from the aircraft (currently they are bused in).

New Route
New winter seasonal route from Lyon to SEN with EZY starting 12 December 2015 scheduled at 1x weekly every Saturday. This will be operated by a SEN based aircraft, aiming to capitalise on the skiing season.

I believe EZY has an Amsterdam base, or am I dreaming?. Assuming I am not dreaming, I'm surprised they don't operate an early flight into SEN in view of the route's popularity.

EZY
I can see MXP being a possibility since it has now become a base for EZY and it is not currently served from STN. Also be good to see an increase in BCN as that too has become a base for them and has seen a reduced service since the 4th based aircraft left SEN.
Interesting piece in Private Eye about a dispute over revenue between Network Rail, Stobart and Abellio Greater Anglia - station has been more successful than expected so Stobart get an "extravagant and unreasonable" share of the revenue according to AGA...
Might explain the lack of progress on early/late trains?!?

I am not in any way an expert, but I think it is not likely that SEN would be added soon. The early morning London market is already served by the LGW flight. In addition, there are two more Easyjet AMS-LON flights before 9:00 already (one to LTN and one to LGW), which because of the time difference also arrive before 9:00. I can imagine that Easyjet would prefer to use the AMS-based aircraft on business destinations in continental Europe, where there is no 1 hour time difference advantage like there is to the UK.

This letter from Abellio Greater Anglia to the Office for Rail Regulation claims that the railway station has been "much more successful" than envisaged:

Certainly the station seems very well patronised whenever I've seen it, but AGA must be rather slow on the uptake if they thought it would be otherwise. In this instance Stobart seem to have played a winning hand. However, a new round is now in play and AGA may be in a stronger position - but I doubt it. The letter makes it clear that relations between AGA and Stobart are strained, to say the least!! If I were Stobart I'd start running those coach services now.

With such a high share of the rail ticket revenues I'm sure Stobart will want to ensure that any coach service they may (or may not) operate doesn't run at times when it might attract pax who would otherwise use the train.
It looks as if the LYS service will use the SEN-based A320 and not a LYS-based aircraft.
