FlyBe are running radio ads at the moment on LBC promoting the 5 European routes but giving start dates of July. Obviously they are still using the old ads that were used to launch the routes but to the uninformed the ads give the impression that the routes have not started yet. This is crass and lazy and also stupid because the cost of recording a basic radio ad is minimal compared to the cost of the airtime.

EZY will base 1 less aircraft at both SEN and STN next year taking them down to 3 and 7 based aircraft respectively. Therefore both will see a cut in flights next summer. LGW and LTN is where it's all happening for EZY.

EZY have an airframe problem - the new Airbus deliveries have yet to start and the slots at KK are use em or lose em, and GW is their home base. Until they get additional aircraft the fleet at SS and MC are going to suffer to support the more important bases

Shanwick Downtime
Did SEN see any action as a result of this? I did see an AMS City Jet showing, anything else?
Dunno why I said Shanwick, showing my age! Meant Swanick, perhaps they should never have moved from West Drayton!!

Swanwick downtime
The Cityjet RJ from Amsterdam was the only diversion from LCY. As City was full I would have hoped for more but a BA City Flyer EMB was seen coming from AMS late afternoon as things improved and FR24 showed it as coming Spain (Almeria)I think so ATC maybe were refusing flights and sending them off to the Continent until things got better.
Good news that SEN have finally acquired an EMB towbar that is due next week which seems to show the management are now taking a serious look at taking more LCY diverts when the need arises

I passed by the airport this evening and stuck my head through the door. The second - evening - flight to Antwerp was cancelled. Does anyone know why? Not awfully good for a Monday evening.

no more NQY flights?
It appears that FlyBe will not operate these flights from SEN next year having moved them to STN. I wonder what Stobarts felt about their business partner moving a service, which was popular with local people, away to another airport which I am sure some locals will not bother to use. This follows on from the strange decision by EZY to stop flying to Krakow which was very well supported to/from SEN. Funny old world, the airline business.
