To be honest 59/118 on SEN-CGN isn't too bad for a first flight. As for 92+ on MXP flight that is really good if true.

Yield is more important than passenger numbers so lets hope they are charging enough.

So overall a load factor of 60% plus. I wonder how that stacks up against expectations?

Remember they set the price.

And perhaps retail sales have had a record day in the terminal.

Those numbers look pretty solid, decent loads both ways which bodes well. If 50-odd people from the UK end and 50-odd people from Cologne use the service, flights should be quite full once they've been running a few days and the two markets mix. Lyon looks better than I expected, if the Milan figures hold up they're into a winner.

Even if fares are on the low side, Stobart will of course retain ancillary spend from car parking and retailing. It will be interesting to see how the other routes perform and how loads hold up.

When the routes were announced I felt CGN and LYS might struggle, but these figures show some promise. Obviously, I hope they are given enough time to show their full potential. Look at the likes of CFR and GRQ which didn't start great but have now proved successful.

Return of SEN-DUB

Apparently. Doesn't mention if it will offer EI through bookings.

Interesting development and the article suggests E195s rather than ATRs may operate on the Dublin route. Curious if using a jets rather than turboprop's will attract increased traction for sustainable growth on this route.

More importantly will be interesting to see will they auto include a checked luggage allowance and free seat selection at cost attractive prices compared to Cityjets proposition on the LCY-DUB service.

The scheduling of any reignited SEN-DUB-SEN service is critical if it's to hit the KPIs.

The article pic is actually the interior cabin of a Cityjet Avro despite the article being about Flybe.
Lazy journalism

It would make sense to recommence SEN-DUB in October as a replacement for some of the current new routes which will not operate over the winter period. As to whether this will operate under the Flybe brand or Aer Lingus Regional I guess that may depend on the attitude of Aer Lingus towards adding a jet to the AER fleet. The existing codeshare between Flybe and Aer Lingus may enable through bookings to US destinations if flown under the Flybe brand.

Flybe's previous animosity towards SEN-DUB would presumably no longer apply since they ceased operating LCY-DUB.

Thank you for the figures. If you have access to daily figures, and you have the time, some of us here would appreciate regular updates as the season gets underway. Ignore those who write and start moaning!

I think the first year of any new business is happy to achieve a growing number of regular customers against anything more than a breakeven situation financially. Although I hate Milan as a city, there is huge demand (I've lost count how many flights we have a week from Lux to Milan's three airports) and judging by the first day loads it's no surprise to see 80+ each way. I, too, had my doubts about Koln and Lyon, but they too are no embarrassment for the first day. It is possible, if carefully planned, to connect, using separate tickets by using Hopair, to up to around 8 other internal destinations in France. If a passenger is in no hurry to reach his destination, or wants to continue onwards after a few days in the Lyon area, it can be a cheap way to travel around. For the first month or so, I will be interested the view the pax loads figures on the new routes, although I know a few moaners on here probably have no interest in them.

Good business for Flybe. Wet lease the aircraft to their franchise operator who then has to pay the franchise fee to operate the route. Win-Win situation.

Looks like some Stobart activity at the airport today with Tinkler (reportedly) arriving in M-SAIR earlier from CAX via MAN and G-SGRP arriving too.
