Good to see they're doing some more refurbishing.
The airport duty managers and security staff are back working 24 hours again starting this week, having witnessed first hand the ferocity of the cost cutting over recent years, they would only shell out on the extra wages if they were going to see it back again...
Also rumours that the fire category is going to be raised again too

The only new operation here at DTV will be the construction traffic when they start and build the houses, having said that though, I've heard that Ryanair and Norwegian were keen on a start up to the capital.. other than that don't know why they want 24hr cover when peel are already stating that its costing them 200k to keep open every month.. so why add to that when its not needed??

I heard medevac and transplant flights and anyone else who wants to come and go after hours. Interesting to see if the out of hours fees are still applicable.
HH6702 presume we never thought Leicester could of won the premier league.

I thinking
Thursday -aircraft arrives late evening
Friday - TFS, IBZ
Saturday - PMI, ALC,
Sunday - CFU, ZTH
Monday - aircraft positions back out
Could work weekend base covered by NCL , LBA crews

So are you saying PEEL have done a uturn and are now actively looking for flights to operate from DTV?
If so wonder what made them change their minds?
Passenger tax to go,employment of many more staff, increased Fire Cover/ATC cover
Wonder what incentives being offered..maybe it's the Housing revenue?
What ever it will be an interesting few months..the people of Teesside have been crying out for years now to be able to fly locally..well it will be up to them!
Ps no new house viewing allowed while jet aircraft are departing or completing engine runs!!!!

Will Newcastle be able to hold many more aircraft overnight with stands etc
Could they operate the flights in using the aircraft from ncl instead then
NCL-PMI-DTV-PMI-NCL
thomson used to do this maybe airport could be looking at weekend upgrade on to cover these services

Rumours of 8/9 aircraft based at ncl for summer 2018 by jet2 and if Ryanair base overnight parking will be full...
Instead of jet2 doing 3 flights on Saturday from ncl and lba to PMI on a Saturday move one of these flights to DTV. They could fill it by people living closer to DTV then them travelling up or down to LBA

R-R - no, you are spot on, but don't follow your point about the masterplan being a wake up call?
Meanwhile...
the only mention has been of a duty officer and security staff overnight (presumably additional security staff?) - no mention of extended opening hours. Presumably even medevac and transplant flights are AOC so would need ATC at least?
Off topic, but note that a NCL apron G could be used for overnight parking, so 4 stands there and I believe the main apron is still not back to the peak years for ONS.
