Well!... The posts from today are quite telling to say the least! Realisation of Peel's real objectives, obstruction to flight route development and an Anti North East sentiment to support Yorkshire and Lancashire Airports, than that which is obviously the best solution, to encourage faster express links via coach and improved rail to Newcastle International Airport and support our North East Region. If the £millions... spent on DTV/Peel were invested in developing Fast, comfortable links to Newcastle Airport; - As a region we may be able to promote more routes, better links, wider connections and complimentary freight / passenger destinations opening up USA, Germany, more UAE, Italy, Switzerland and Scandinavia. .... or we could continue...and stagnate...!!

Baffling comment. One way you don't encourage new business though, is to sign a contract, let your customer incur the start up costs and then pull the plug.

And just because you don't like VentureGo's points, doesn't make them invalid. There is at least an argument to say that the impasse at DTVA is having a negative impact on the region as a whole.

Prostituting? Don't recognise an organisation being managed in a commercially savvy manner? Perhaps they should be trying to alienate their customer base....

Actually apologies all, actually meant to post this on the NCL thread, but it does illustrate the point I made last week in the great Cleveland Coaches debate about NCL targeting the south and west of the region (they started sponsoring Carlisle United last season)

N707ZS - again apologies, but I don't follow your cultural reference?!?

Some years ago Mike Ashley Newcastle United football clubs owner changed the name of the ground from St James's Park to something like "The JJB" arena. Within hours a local was down smashing up the signs. I can see some of the locals seeing it as bad as that, the words Newcastle on a BORO shirt!
Me personally I am not really bothered.

This one does affect DTVA - not many comments from airlines, though...

When could direct flights to London from Durham Tees Valley begin? (From The Northern Echo)

I will be flying out today at 15.30 in a PA28 provided the weather stays calm enough. Will give anyone a wave who is there!

Beafer. DTV is a brilliant place to fly from, it's cheap and well manned ATZ and offers crucial services including lighting and ILS. I really wish you would put your passion to good use and go join friends of DTV instead of doing it down constantly. Even better, go and learn to fly from the field. Then it will be more likely to stay open.

It's been discussed on here before there is no-one else, others would have closed the doors long before now. I'd rather have a little bit of something than a whole lot of nothing.
