And with that news goes any hope of any regeneration for the airport and area. Nice one.

Air show area is all set up with a massive fence and red/white stripey PA system masts. Heard they might have got Sparta security of TV fame in to do the security!

Taken from the DTVMovements website; I can imagine there are a few ignorant types that will try this:

We appreciate the vast majority of our readers will respect the rules - thank you!

Air Show Day

Sounds like it's going to be a great weekend with lots to keep everyone's interest and attention- a great advert for the airport and its future.
Organisers will make lots of money for their charities and the public will go home happy and entertained.

Highwideandugly - I could be wrong here, but I detect a faint hint of sarcasm in your post, yet what you've said is bang on the money

Just curious, but on what basis can the police make you keep moving on a public footpath?

SWBKCB - I presume it's because if you're standing on it you're therefore blocking it, daft I know but as long as it stops the people who think they can beat the system then I'm happy.

Knievel 77, Skylive's website and the branding on the helicopter states Adventure Helicopters, but it arrived under a Castle Air call sign, who it's also registered to.

Good luck to everyone involved tomorrow!! (Or later today now!)

That,s yer lot....

Well, that's it,26 years wait is over..,hope all enjoyed themselves, not with standing the no shows and hiccups!
Skyline hopefully will have plenty of cash left over after expenses to support all the worth while charities?

So it,s back to the mundane and the efforts to save/preserve/develope a once flourishing regional airport.

Thank goodness you said that. They will be in hot water, I believe they can ask people to leave an area in case of public safety, but other than that....

Well history was made yesterday and Skylive exceeded most peoples expectations! Thankfully all went pretty much like clockwork, with only a couple of minor issues that were either unavoidable (i.e. traffic) or were not serious enough to affect people's enjoyment of the day.

Bring on next year!
