The council put double yellow lines on Eton Green Road where cars would park fully on the grass verge. I didn't see more than 4 parking tickets on any one car but then the cars were not checked daily.

To park in the airport staff car park, which is what most people working in the terminal have to do, takes 6 weeks to process. They are told to park on local streets while they wait for their pass.

I work at the airport and see this often, I was getting some lunch the other day, when someone asked if they could park on one of the side roads, and at the same time getting out a suitcase!
I don't agree with people damaging peoples cars. They need to get some controlled parking here asap, as more and more people know of these side roads.

TUI also reached an agreement with LBC to use the Wigmore Valley car park for overflow parking whilst other alternatives are being sought....
Only the restricted non-public part of of the Wigmore Park car park.....and the agreement was that TUI employees did not park in the public part of the car park or on the pavements. However, this is still going on and quite justifiably many local residents are totally fed up with the whole situation!

Paxing All Over The World
The newspaper report will change things. For a number of years, I lived very near a commuting railway station: each time they put up the car park charges - more cars spilled out onto residential roads. Eventually, we took photographs to show that, coming out of our drive, we could not see the road until we were IN the road, due to the parked cars. Within six months of that letter - we got double yellow lines down both sides of our road for peak times.
Wizzair's website seems to show that Luton-Tuzla doesn't operate during the coming winter, namely late October 2017 to late March 2018. It appears to have operated last winter though.
Anyone know if this is advance notice of a route termination, or will it return next summer ?

Drivers are doing nothing illegal leaving their cars in side streets as long as they are taxed and insured and residents have no rights to expect that they can automatically park outside their own house. The danger comes in double parking and emergency service access.

TUI car park this afternoon which was one third empty according to Friends of Wigmore Park
At the same time the public car park was full of TUI staff cars. As they had taken all the spaces they then completely blocked the pavement from the car park.

If not, there should be - no need to charge, just have a maximum stay of say three hours and no return within a certain period.
Seems like the council needs to get to grips with this - and locals need to hold the council to account via their local councillors.
I have lived in places when residential permit parking restrictions have been introduced - yes, it means extra considerations in terms of visitors or tradesmen and so on - but it improved the street and surrounding ones immensely, and I would definitely recommend it.

Local Councillors are working on the issue of the Wigmore Park car park but to introduce a time limit apparently requires a Traffic Regulation Order which takes some time to go though.......

Seems that the airport/council have turned cool on the idea of running a dual carriageway through the back of the airport from New Airport Way, across Percival Way and the back of the cargo terminal to serve their new Enterprise Zone on Wigmore Park. They now want to run it up Eaton Green Road which makes any development for a terminal 2 now unlikely.
