I was 10 years out, it was easyjet around 5 years after they were formed so I should have said 2000. They wanted their terminal to be like a bus station. I wasn't impressed and nor was the airport.

Maybe EZY will get the chance of an exclusion terminal this time round?

The Danish Air Transport ATR-72 took the London Broncos rugby league team to/from Perpignan for a game against the Catalan Dragons which are based in Perpignan. Not many rugby league teams fly out of Luton, could be the first. Premier League begins next week so expect more sports charters.

Wonder if they went via a FBO or had the pleasure of using the terminal?

The parking issue at Wigmore Park has been going on for ages........Once again, the inept Council have their fingerprints all over this issue as Wigmore Place should have never been given planning permission in what is primarily a residential area without the provision of sufficient workers parking.

There is currently a consultation of local residents going on with a view to introduce some sort of parking restrictions to prevent all day Wigmore Place and Airport parking in local residential streets!

Why is the car park the other side of the road to the tidy tip not used?

Having worked for TUI recently, they do not charge for the use of car parks. There is a ballot held for the underground spaces at Wigmore Place and for spaces in the Eaton Green car park (next to the park) which is shared with First Port. The spaces opposite the tidy tip, next to the long term car park, are on a first come first served basis and the car park is full by 08:30 every morning.

TUI also reached an agreement with LBC to use the Wigmore Valley car park for overflow parking whilst other alternatives are being sought....

There has been discussion on the Easyjet thread of what the airline should do with its cash pile. At the same time, their brand must be being undermined by the passenger experience at Luton. Is there any way they could use their cash to improve the situation? Just a thought.

By next summer Luton will have the next installment of its drop off zone up and running plus the terminal should hopefully be a different experience with most of the work completed to enlarge it.

On the negative side the CTA will once again be a massive building site with work on the DART taking place. No gain without further pain comes to mind but it will be worth it.

I dropped my son and family off not an hour ago and was completely disorientated as I came out of the tunnel. It has changed so much and I haven't been there for umpty dumpty years. I think they have made the best out of a bad job, all completely painless and I didn't even begrudge them the three quid!

So what else is on the cards?

So what else is on the cards?
The following will happen in the next 4 years

Second multistory in CTA,
Multistory in midterm,
Second tunnel under Taxiway Alpha which will continue through the CTA.
New temporary drop off zone and then another permanent drop off zone.
New temporary road layout in CTA with exit barriers being moved then another permanent road layout that will exit between the two multistory car parks.
New station and driverless trains to Parkway.
More stands.
Taxiway Foxtrot that will be parallel to taxiway Delta,
Extension to taxiway Alpha for runway 26.
Completion of terminal extension and internal alterations.
New canopy fronting terminal that will also offer weather protection for most of the bus station.

Think that covers it.

With the 15% increase in pax for July 2016 that makes over 20% growth for the month of July in two years. The facilities - if that is the word - do not seem to be putting the punters off at the moment.

Airports are like the stock market, at some point the bubble will burst.

Quite agree, there is only a finite number of people who want/have to travel, no bottomless pit.
