Drivers are doing nothing illegal leaving their cars in side streets as long as they are taxed and insured and residents have no rights to expect that they can automatically park outside their own house. The danger comes in double parking and emergency service access.
Of course......but something has to give if local residents are struggling to park in their own areas due to those areas being used for free airport parking!
