Regarding the extra VY flights to BCN at LTN, I think this is driven more by Mobile World Congress:

Quite a few quirky liveries around the last few days. Volotea I guess was for the football. There was a couple of odd 737's I have no idea who they belonged to. All red one with a woman on the tail and 737 classic with a big sun on the tail? Not 2 liveries I have seen before.

There was an AlbaStar classic 737 that visited Luton, I guess for a football charter.

Volotea today

If the Volotea was for the football it must have been Arsenal supporters who live in Spain as it departed before the end of the match....
Alba Star were doing ski flights the last 2 weekends. The odd-ball 737-400 today was 9H-ZAZ of Air Horizont with Barcelona supporters. Ex BA's G-DOCD.

Grrr

Is it publicised what the concession payment per passenger/tonne of freight is between AENA/Axa and Luton Borough Council? I am guessing somewhere buried within LBC published accounts, but I cannot find any reference.

LBC accounts must show the income derived from the concession?

And at Luton, Ryanair will add five new winter services, to Fuerteventura (twice a week), Gran Canaria (twice a week), Murcia (three a week), Tenerife (twice a week) and Vilnius (four a week) and add flights to Kaunas (daily).

It's in the airports accounts

Under the terms of the concession agreement which is in place until March 2031, Luton Borough Council and London Luton Airport Limited (“LLAL”) granted the Company the exclusive right to carry on the airport business in accordance with the terms of the Concession Agreement for the whole of the concession period. The Company pays a fee to LLAL based on the throughput of passengers and cargo. The concession fee for the twelve month period ended on 31 December 2014 was £30,190,000 (2013: £27,305,000).
Fee to council £30,190,000/10,500,000 passengers 2014=£2.87 fee per passenger.

£30,190,000/ Population 200,000=£150.95 per person benefit.
£30,190,000/ 75,983 properties =£397.32 per property benefit.

Think it might have been a good move all those years ago when the change of council stopped the sale of the airport.

I've just looked at the Ryanair schedules and they now have flights to both Kaunas (daily, Kaunas based aircraft) and Vilnius (5 weekly, Luton based aircraft) for Summer 2016. I'm sure the last time I checked the Kaunas flights stopped at the end of March 2016. Then again, it's getting increasingly difficult to keep track of everything!

Every route with the exception of Copenhagen is bookable for the winter period... Funny that!

Without a doubt, Ryanair are awaiting easyJet's move on the route!

If easyJet pull off the route or reduce frequency for the winter period, I highly suspect Ryanair will follow suit!

If we don't see FR add any frequencies on the LTN-CPH route could we have a new route added in W16 due to this? I have also noticed that when I look at the destinations served by Luton whilst trying to book a flight on the app, Rome Ciampino is on the list but no dates appear. Odd.

Doesn't Rome Ciampino date back to many years ago when they operated the route.

How about more flights to Dublin. Surely more than 3 flights a day could easily work?

Easyjet confirmed there won't be doing there 5 flights to Sharm these summer. Could we see a some new routes which are shorter distance to fill in the gaps. Also Monarch will also have 3 gaps to fill in if there decide not to fly there.
