Ryanair Summer 2016

FR also looks to have a decent schedule at BHX for S16 with increases on some routes, most noticeably BCN and DUB when compared to this summer.

Also looks as if it will be back up to 4 based aircraft for the whole season and could potentially overtake FR's base at LPL in terms of traffic.

I don't think the city pairs mentioned in the interview are particularly serious; more so that fact that he mentioned Birmingham (and Edinburgh) by name; which I think adds grist to the mill that BHX is going to figure in Norwegian's growth plans. This suggests a short haul BHX base for 2016 is all the more likely.

I wonder if a base announcement could coincide with the launch of Tenerife and Las Palmas?

You do suspect if there is no base announcement this month or next, probably not going to happen for next summer.

We still have some weeks to go before that, so fingers crossed.

As regards to timings you are correct.
The Tuesday and Friday flights are new.
Great to see our new flights this year doing well.

Ice

Unless the website requires updating the 4 per week Ice flights seem to start on the 01/02/2016.

Apart from the 2 weeks around the summer/winter change it still shows 2 per week till Feb.

Happy to be corrected.

In my post I should have mentioned that the Tues. and Fri. Flights in October were for the half term holidays.
The schedule then goes back to 2xweekly until Feb,then 4x weekly until the spring as Centre Cities rightly says.
I am led to believe that it will be 4x weekly for most of the summer as well

Ice

With next summer currently showing 3 per week (an increase of one over this summer) which has been in the timetable for some considerable time.

Nigel,

Is there a fixed amount of planes that can be 'Based' at BHX - with space been made for D8 / extra Thomson or just general expansion?

Dude1882.

I believe one of the TUI planes next summer for BHX will be a non TOM plane probably either Germania or Norwegian ,but at present no airline showing.

Assuming the Norwegian base happens I would be putting my money on them.

Wizz

https://www.birminghamairport.co.uk/...-and-budapest/

First scheduled flight earlier today from Warsaw with Budapest tomorrow.

Of course several visits before on diversion from Luton but not a first for the Midlands as they operated schedule flights from Coventry a few years back - not too often that this has happened but hopefully they will be around BHX longer than they were at CVT.

Veuling

Alicante is showing as a direct destination from Birmingham on the Vueling route map. Not bookable yet, let's hope it's a new destination ex BHX.
