Signs of life at Regional?

Commsoft, developers of one of the world’s leading aviation engineering and maintenance systems, is delighted to announce that it has signed a 3 year contract with bmi Regional. The deal – which allows for 30 concurrent users – represents the outcome of the regional airline’s decision to continue using Commsoft’s OASES (Open Aviation Strategic Engineering System) for its maintenance operations rather than transfer to a rival system, reversing a previous group decision.

bmi Regional, having recently separated from British Midland International following the latter’s acquisition by IAG, is currently in the process of establishing its own IT support infrastructure with plans to 'go live' in the new environment before the end of August. Commsoft will be facilitating the transfer of the current software build and database and providing progressive OASES upgrades, including new modular developments covering the Approved Maintenance Programme (AMP) revision control, Airworthiness Directive (AD) and Service Bulletin (SB) management, and Line Maintenance Control facilities. Integration with bmi Regional’s AIMS operations system is also likely to take place in 2013.

Commsoft’s Managing Director, Nick Godwin commented:
“The decision by bmi Regional to put their continued faith in OASES is excellent news for us, confirming that the on-going major investment in functional developments is keeping the system competitive. We’re looking forward to demonstrating just why their decision was the right one.”

BBB much bigger......care to expand? Surely thinking much bigger would be some sort of tie up with someone else? Air Lingus Regional, City Jet, Loganair would Flybe want 145s back they have a huge order of ejets as ready made replacements if so. Anybody think any of the above are realistic?

So you are saying a link up between Suckling Airways and BMI Regional?

More to the point SA as a subsidary of Loganair. So BMIr becoming a subsidary of Loganair?

It would make sense, but not for all 3 airlines to remain seperate with seperate back office functions and head offices to maintain and expense.

This rumor has been circulating since time began, nothing new to it.

BMI Regional have released the first part of there W12/13 schedule. The current BD IATA code will be replaced by BM from the start of the W12/13 season. Flights will continue to be sold through the flybmi.com website.

They will continue to serve all routes currently served under the BMI Regional brand. The will cease to operate former BMI routes from LHR from 27th October

Based on flight now on sale it looks as if they plan to base the following aircraft at the bases below

ABZ - 1 x ER3 & 1 x ER4
EDI - 2 x ER4
EMA - 1 x ER3 & 1 x ER4
GLA - 1 x ER4
LBA - 1 x ER3
MAN - 1 x ER3

With 14 ER4's in the fleet and only 5 shown as being used so far for W12/13 are we gonna see BM add a number of new routes or does anyone know if they plan to reduce the size of the fleet??

This contract is notorious for being given to a different operator at every renewal. It could be argued that bmiR is a different operator, however.

With aircraft being owned rather than leased it would make sense to have a hot and a cold spare.

It was my understanding that Diamond Club ceases to exist completely after that date, as all mainline DC members have now been absorbed into Avios/BAEC. This leaves bmiR with no FFP.
