Some very interesting things are about to happen at BMIR. All for the better I might add to prevent speculation. Not prepared to say any more at this time but just a bit of food for thought.

In any interviews I've seen with the new owners they've come across as pretty laid back about the future and the need to get changes moving, which frankly seems odd in the face of the sharp decline in pax numbers.

Agree. They need at least 65% load factors at decent yields across the network and few if any of their routes meet these criteria. Take some competition to Flybe would be my advice.

Any idea when these 'interesting things' will become public/be announced?? If at all.

Wish I could say!! If I did I'd be making it up!! I would best guess by the end of the month as an ultimate deadline, perhaps before.
As for the load factors, not entirely sure we can get too bogged down in that. As pointed out in a recent post BMIR do a lot of charter work and whilst this isn't the best grounds for a long term plan, it does mean that good revenue can be produced which then facilitates the growth of the scheduled side of things. I'm sure it can be quite frustrating seeing things on the front line but lets not forget that it's the winter and the new management have barely had time to get seated comfortably.

BMIr have many things going for them which other failed airlines have not.
Not the least of which is the behind scenes work between Loganair and BMIr of which both are invested in by the Bond Brothers.
Lets see what the end of this month brings before the 'experts' slaughter another airline.

I'm not an expert and I'm certainly not slaughtering any airline. A lot of people have personal agendas on here. I sincerely hope there is some substance to this months announcement or whatever it may be.
We all obviously want the airline to succeed. But blind optimism is dangerous.
As for experts, didn't you announce some months ago recruitment was starting imminently. Fact. Then announced later no recruitment. I've been through enough redundancies to know there are no facts.
Wish you all the best.

Van G My comments were not aimed at anyone in particular.
As for my previous comments (months ago) they were based on the most recent information i had. Which i thought would be a good idea to share as this is a rumour site. The fact that the information and situation changed over a period of time is not my responsibility.
Lets hope for some positive news. As if things pan out other than in a good way i too shall be very disappointed.

I wonder if today's news regarding Flybe cutting up to 300 jobs and reorganising itself into two divisions will have any effect on the current Loganair franchise...
Does anyone know if the Bond Brothers have plans to join their 3 airlines Loganair, Sulkling Airways and bmi regional altogether to form one single airline? As Rougueg said yesterday on here they are working together behind scenes.
Also there are rumours of announcement from bmi regional due sometime shortly regarding their future activities. Putting everything together would surely make sense if flybe did or eventually do decide to drop the franchise...

I don't think it would be flybe deciding to drop the franchise (it's a revenue generator and competition limiter), more like why would you want to have your own BMIr brand and pay flybe to use there's for another part of your operation? Is being reliant on flybe, here and now, a good strategy? I don't think so.

Going back to page 28, this was stated:
"Further changes to the schedule shortly especially when it comes to aircraft deployment. The current schedule for S13 had BM operating 6 ER3's. However there are only 4 in the fleet. They are showing as operating:
ABZ - 1 x Operating the 2 x daily NWI, daily ESJ and 3 x weekly GRQ flights
BRS - 1 x Operating the 2 x daily HAM flights
EMA - 1 x Operating the 2 x daily BRU rotation
LBA - 1 x Operating the 2 x daily BRU rotation
MAN - 2 x Operating All ANR and LYS flights as well as 3 round trips to EDI."
What will the change from ER4 to ER3 take place? From 1st April? And how can I confirm the aircraft-type change given, unlike on www.flybmi.com, bmi regional doesn't state the scheduled aircraft?
Thanks!
G-JNHP.
