See that Brussels flight has been cancelled today and Wednesday. Very unfortunate start for this new route given the circumstances however, how sustainable will the route be given that it provides very few connections and people will stay away from Brussels for quite a while.

It's far away from the business capitals of Europe though and a few politicians every other week can't be sustainable. Looking at Galileo GDS before the Brussels attacks, the flights were very lightly booked.

It would be great to see this route working to Brussels. Though apart from the awful situation in Brussels based in the events of last week , the pressure for point to point is enormous as Dublin has recently doubled frequency with Ryanair 's arrival on the route and at the same time crashing prices.
Belfast Brussels will be need to target a point to point market and connections however limited to points on the African continent...

Ei-BUD, I totally agree however when trying to book connections, they are not available on GDS. Only a few which are served already or will be soon be from BFS. I would have though that SN would have been better to affiliate with UA as their( Star Alliance )partner to provide connections ex BFS as the flight now carries AC and LH codeshare flight numbers.

I am guessing that what you says makes sense, though I cannot see the driver of a Belfast route for SN being the ability to connect passengers via a United BFS flight, clearly this is the case since BHD was chosen. Moreover, like KLM to Amsterdam, the flights are late enough, so largely designed for point to point traffic. I imagine Brussels Airlines would also far prefer fly passengers directly on their own US services or through their parent Lufthansa in Germany...

Brussels cancelled again for Thursday 31st.
They've also changed their conditions, so that a full refund is only possible:
"if Brussels Airlines does not offer an alternative flight solution to your destination on your original travel date."

The rumour is apparently that the parent company who own Harbour have finally realised that they paid way over the odds for the business and are now in a restructuring phase. It will be interesting to see how much of a loss they are prepared to accept, on the other side of the coin if Harbour is freed from trying to finance such a massive debt then perhaps that can only be a good thing for future growth. Time will tell.
