aer lingus at city..

Quick scan of the bhd departure board tonight flybe MAN 485 2hr delay, EMA, 2 1/2 hr, LBA 2 1/2 hr, EDI 1 hr 25 and MAN 487 1hr 20- to name but a few- with punctuality like that who needs 'em? If Aer Lingus can come and ruffle a few feathers I say let them- flybe might up their game!

The Belfast service has transitioned to the BA operating certificate, essentially still ex BMI staff using the usual gates at T1. One of the aircraft transferred is in BA colours, one in Dove and one still in BMI.

I've said all along competition is the life of trade! You're quite right.

The weather was the reason behind delays, EZY and EI had the same issues

Dpconlan mustn't understand that these delays are only down to weather n mustn't have looked out the window n see how nasty those clouds were, not only here but across most of northern England and all of Scotland was slot restricted due to massive thunderstorms, I am all for EI coming to bhd but even they would have had delays and cancellations today, especially if the ATR's are used on any routes as some of them are only CAT l. Delays like this are expected with the weather that has been seen today, it could have been worse n there could have been more cancellations.

@Irishlad 06 sorry I was too busy to 'look out the window' as I was sunning myself in the back garden instead. . Course, they'd have been totally in time otherwise, cos we all know flybe's fantastic punctuality.

Flybe punctuality

Flybe operate well over 2000 flights per week across their network and yes there is always room for improvement. However, the fact is that the vast majority of those 2000+ flights will depart and arrive either on time or early.

Problem is, people only remember and talk about the late flights. Let's keep things in perspective.

So no announcement yet from Air Lingus ??? Maybe still dotting the i's and crossing the t's but with all the rumours and hype I would have thought there would have been some news by now.

“We anticipate that in June we shall be in a position to make an announcement regarding the arrival of more than one new airline to Belfast City Airport. This follows a week of intensive negotiations."

The negotiations must be extremely intense or maybe it's June 2013 Mr A was talking about.

When they finally announce EI moving down the road, it will feel like such an anti-climax. FlyBe doesn't seem to give a stuff about competition and EZY and JET2 swallowing up the majority of the gap left behind by Lingus at the Loughside. These boards are so good at hyping things up, it is unbelieveable.

Seems like someone has put on the wiki that Manx2 are pulling out of BHD altogether from September any evidence on this ?? Or is it just someone messing around ?
