Great fares from CityJet........just looked at random fares for June & Paris from£108 return whilst Jersey from £27 one way......also all ops under WX flight numbers now and not AF. I'm assuming there are going to be two F50's based come March ??

The Cityjet flights to Orly are codeshared with Air France. If you book a through ticket CWL-ORY-NCE (for example) with AF flight numbers, I don't imagine there will be any problem through-checking bags. If you are on separate tickets and the CWL-ORY ticket is on the WX flight number, it is not likely to be possible.

I'd strongly suspect that the main reason CityJet is flying from Cardiff to ORY rather than to CDG (where, let's face it, the connections are) is that AF needs to babysit some slots in ORY. (An F50 does not really need a 90-minute turnround in ORY ) In the past, AF has bankrolled some funky third-party operations (Orly-Caen in a Beech 1900, anyone?) in order to hold on to its ORY slots at the lowest possible price. I would guess that something similar is going on here, i.e. that as part of the dowry it'll pay to Intro, AF has offered some sort of guaranteed-revenue deal to CityJet/Intro in return for which they'll fly the route in the downtime between GLA rotations.

Well as long as CityJet keep the prices as they are, I'm sure there will be an increase in the passenger figures..and possibly another new destination once these ones have been tested and tried.
My Paris flight was nearly £80 cheaper than EZY or AF from BRS !!!

Hi SWBKCB,
Yes ORY does require an airline to apply for slots, and infact COHOR (French Airport Coordination) is based at ORY.
So if you were to look at their system, the answer would be plain to see if they have applied or are on waitlist for slots S14.

Any Airline will say this. They aren't exactly going to say they aren't committed, or "may" do this and that.
But I think there's different opportunities at CWL than DND. The Airline seems to be changing the way it operates and the markets it serves, so I'm sure they'll go all out at CWL. There's limited other markets for them to try out there.

That's two interesting statements by CityJet, but the one regarding CWL, at the bottom shows how bleak things have got with the Welsh Government having to bail them out. If i were "Joe public" i would be wondering if its a nice airport to fly out of and why no airlines want to go there.
