Baggage
I think it depends on the airline. On my weekly LHR flights the luggage is on the conveyor before half the passengers are in the baggage hall. Containerised baggage handling has its advantages.

Unsure as to what relevance DXB has to all of this. It usually takes so long to get through imigration c. midnight on arrival from NCL, that you sholuld be more worried that someone has taken your baggage from the carousel !!

80 on a Saturday afternoon?
I don't think it was covering for an A321. The A321 operated at 12.15. It looked like it was added to the schedule as all other flights took off at the usual times.
Not a very wise choice of A/C considering two flights either side within an hour. All other flights with 80%-90% load factor today. Slightly baffled at the choice of a 763!

Last time I checked the BA timetable, they operate 6 times on a Sunday to LHR and not the 5. The 767 operated BA1325 which is the 3rd flight of the day, at 1355. Listing the flight before and the one after from flightradar departures:
BA1327 scheduled 1215 departed 1206
BA1325 scheduled 1355 departed 1355
BA1333 scheduled 1445 departed 1442
As for it being a 767, perhaps Titan didn't have any other spare equipment and I guess BA had none either as they subbed it out. Does it really matter if it's "apparently" too big?

Titan Airways on BA1325
Hi All - BA1327 was operated by an A321 and BA1333 by an A320. Pic of G-POWD at Newcastle Airport on BA1325 at Boeing 767: 30847 G-POWD 767-36N(ER) Titan Airways Newcastle Airport | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Cheers.

Titan 763.
The 763 was parked at the C gates here at LHR about an hour ago. Covering for a shortage of BA aircraft/crew. Although larger than the planned 319/320 to from NCL if it hadn't operated that flight it would have been cancelled altogether. I'm sure the passengers on the flight would have loved that.
Luggage claim.
Don't think I have ever waited more than 20 mins or so for luggage at NCL from anywhere. Will time it tonight.

They're probably paying a bomb to lease this aircraft and crew.

With 75 passengers on board who would have blamed them!

I really have lost interest in the level of discussions on the NCL thread at the moment! So we are now slagging BA off for keeping 80 pax's happy by actually operating a promised flight, yes they sub leased a larger aircraft in. But I am sure it beats rescheduling on other flights later in the day, it being a Sunday the flights will be getting fuller later!!

I'm certainly not slagging BA off - merely stating facts and asking reasonable questions. As I've said in previous threads, BA are definitely doing something right. But this does seem a pretty strange decision.

Basic economics, even if there were only 30 passengers. What value do they offer BA? 10 connecting to full fare First class fares, plus a BA Premier or two maybe? Would 25 of the 30 miss connections triggering EU261 compensation?
I believe Titan have an on going standby contract with BA, I would have thought this was the only aircraft available or would be doing a Hugh density rotation in the tomorrow morning where the bigger aircraft was needed?

The EU261 rule wouldn't have applied to this because it was known over a week before departure and the applicable action could have been taken to re-route or re-schedule passengers within 2 hours of original departure time.
But don't disagree with your other statements.
