Basic economics, even if there were only 30 passengers. What value do they offer BA? 10 connecting to full fare First class fares, plus a BA Premier or two maybe? Would 25 of the 30 miss connections triggering EU261 compensation?
I believe Titan have an on going standby contract with BA, I would have thought this was the only aircraft available or would be doing a Hugh density rotation in the tomorrow morning where the bigger aircraft was needed?
