Clueless in Siberia

Incidentally - the working people who laboured to make people like you rich are sufferring already, and they will soon see an even worse situation develop. When that happens, perhaps they'll come and hunt you down. Take back some of what is theirs. People like you have had it too good, and have taken more than you need. Those days are gone you greedy b'stard.
Yes that's right. after working about 20 hours a day for 20 years and providing a good return for my shareholders and a good living for my (Unionised) workforce, I truly sympathise.

You truly don't have a clue.

Anyway, I am not the one in failure. Perhaps we might get back to the topic of Alitalia? I do not believe that the great socialist Gods can salvage this one?

This isn't about you personally. You are merely another tool, a defender of a cracked system. Sure it worked for the fat cats. Lehmans CEO paid himself 400M just last year alone - I doubt he's feeling the pinch.
But that can't be allowed happen any more.
It certainly will not happen at Lehmans!

You've had your day - you succesfully balked working peoples desire for fairness and representation by demonising unions. You're still harping the same old lines, even though the whole world has shifted and you've all been exposed as frauds. Do you actually think anyone takes you seriously any more?

Consumer confidence must be very low now with Alitalia. Who is really going to book with them at the moment and have their business or leisure plans ruined. I think the Italian govt really need to step in and the unions will just have to contemplate the fact that there are be major redundancies and some will loose their job, otherwise the airline collapses and everyone looses their jobs. The unions have nothing to bargin with anymore. Alitalia are a basket case loosing millions everyday and unless the flying public see that things are being done, that they know they can book with confidence, they are going to book with a stronger rival and Alitalia's cash flow will dry up all together and it'll be the end.
This airline will now only just survive as a much smaller leaner organisation and then they might be able to compete against their rivals.

Interesting on how the thread has become a class war. I believe everyone has equal opportunity.

If you want to be a top city flyer, you can do that, just get an education. Failing that, if you can't be bothered or too lazy (like me) Recruit a few smart people, not too many mind, and give the London Stock Exchange Ģ15 grand or so to become a member and whoop-de-do you are now the head of an investment/stockbroking firm rubbing shoulders with the best of them. Anyone can do it, if they really want too.

...just a bit of information...as I said on previous post what is happening now in AZ has very little to do with unions, salary, planes and people...it has everything to do ,and I like to stress the word everything, with politics....but to know that you should have a "full immersion" of our system. Do you know that CAI (the owner-to-be) was born in 1999 with the same people as a society for "buttons and textiles" and that in 2004 they became a "society for aerial transport of goods and people"? This mess has been cooking for years and now is ready to be served...there has never been a real auction this time for AZ but it was instead offered to Cai on a silver plate and to do that they had to change a "couples" of laws....and now Enac is going to pull the license next Thursday according to the news.. too bad that this kind of speedy decisions has never before been applied in Italy but as you know Enac belongs to the Gov.
So I agree with those of you that are saying "having a job is better that beeing unemployed" but do not be so quick to judge...nothig in Italy is what is seems..

A short while ago I wondered if/how any rational person would book AZ at the moment. But this question seems to have been forgotten in the class warfare. Kind of symptomatic of what's going on in Italy at the moment. I have this picture of empty AZ planes flying around....

So what's the story on pax loads anyone?

You're not listening. I told you that I worked WITH Unions succesfully for many years. I have no problem with Unions and my Union guys had no problem with me or my Board. We all did well together, which is what it should all be about.

Your antiquated class warfare values represent your problem my red friend. Get a life.

As I sit off the Island off the Island of Rinca (Having just had a close encounter with a Komodo) enjoying a bottle of Cloudy Bay with a freshly caught red snapper, I wonder why I even bothered to check the GPS in the first place.

....And with it's demise there will no doubt be many operators out there of reluctant to hire persons formerly connected to Alitalia. Why would you want to bring problems into your own organisation .... Stop the infection spreading.

The fact that CAI probably has been registered in 1994 is not strange in any way. The would-be investors have obviously taken a dormant company, which has not been active for some years, maybe changed the name and business idea and then have used it to make a bid for Alitalia. Itīs easier to use a company which has already been legally registered in Italy - easier than founding a new company from scratch. Happens all the time. Some law offices actually SELL pre-registered companies for people who are in a hurry.

La Repubblica reports that some Alitalia employees have published "an open letter to all Alitalia customers" which says: "Please fly with us, fly Alitalia!"

Maybe pax numbers are really falling...

Celtic Pilot

Here's your opportunity: support your brothers in their class struggle by buying some Alitalia tickets.
It doesn't matter where to, because AZ will go under before you get the chance to enjoy their world-famous service!!!
But it'll make you feel good knowing that you're screwing the capitalist system and spoiling Philipat's enjoyment of his favorite NZ tipple.

P.S. like you I studied Mechanical Engineering, but quickly realised that other things pay better.
More worrying: in my day we didn't have left-wing idealists in engineering. How did you get in?

Why should they? I do feel for the employees but why should anybody fly Alitalia now? They are unreliable and in the middle of bankruptcy, with little union backing for any agreements. Why on earth would anybody put themselves or their family through that.

I am sorry but the unless everybody has a good "head banging together" session then its curtains, which will be sad.

However stranger things have happened.
