Consumer confidence must be very low now with Alitalia. Who is really going to book with them at the moment and have their business or leisure plans ruined. I think the Italian govt really need to step in and the unions will just have to contemplate the fact that there are be major redundancies and some will loose their job, otherwise the airline collapses and everyone looses their jobs. The unions have nothing to bargin with anymore. Alitalia are a basket case loosing millions everyday and unless the flying public see that things are being done, that they know they can book with confidence, they are going to book with a stronger rival and Alitalia's cash flow will dry up all together and it'll be the end.
This airline will now only just survive as a much smaller leaner organisation and then they might be able to compete against their rivals.
