Just read in the Echo & Western Mail that the Airport Big Wigs have already held talks with other carriers to replace certain routes.........I wonder who they have been talking too and for which routes in particular ?
Surely they cant afford to loose more pax over to BRS......

Further to Welchguys last comment. I flew from BRS to EWR recently and was amazed at the number of Welsh accents I heard, even on my flight to the US. Then again I'm not totally surprised when you look at the number of destinations you get from CWL compared with BRS. Lets hope there's something in the offing for another carrier to come in and show some commitment to the airport, which is more than can be said of baby

thing is cwl done it rounds with the airlines many times before and no airlines wants to start up in cwl they would have to come up with an offer they can,t refuse to get them to try

Maybe no other airline wanted to come in before now because of baby's presence. whichever way you look at it, baby's presence at cwl will be reduced. obviously it is awful for the staff who will be made redundant, but as far as whichever routes they cut back on, another airline may well jump in to take over the route

Baby's flying at CWL essentially could have been done with two aircraft this year. The third was a bit of a luxury and even in the high season of August spent a long time parked up and all three were generally parked up by 9pm. It wouldn't surprise me if over all the pax numbers for Baby stayed reasonably similar. Working the two aircraft a bit harder would cover most routes. CWL hasn't been hit as hard as BHX and MAN in redundancies either (no comfort I know for those affected so please don't take offence) so there may be some thought of an extra med rotation a day either ultra early or ultra late. Most people don't mind flying late if the price is right and the destination is geared to it.
I think talks of Jet 2 and Ryanair though are a bit premature for this year anyway.

Delta at CWL
Whilst I would love to see it....come on Guys, let's get real around here.
Check out BA's losses for the first quarter, and you'll hopefully realise that the airline industry is STILL in the doll drums.
Like it or not it's going to be at least another 3 - 5 years before pax return to the levels pre economic crash.
I'm amazed that Continental is still hanging in at BRS
