Nice delay on the Zoom yesterday, with it being just over 19 hours late, did the out bound pax stay in departures, or we're they put into hotel for the night, why was the flight delayed, does anyone know?

Thumbs down Dim Cashpointio arrivalio

Still no cashpoint in arrivals??? Are we due to get one?
Noted that the Rhoose/CWL fault line at the security operatives booth has suddenly disappeared, leading to a smoother ride into the airport, though some motorists were using it for going out on Sunday evening .
Also noted that the 20 shilling NCP charge has been warmly welcomed for vehicles entering the short stay, NOT.

halcyon days....

Some international airports charge for taxis to pick up. Others charge for trolleys. A select few add "development" or somesuch fees. But charging to pick up your family members/friend/colleague when you had no say in which airport they chose to arrive at?

Does any other UK airport impose such a charge?

In the Echo it was reported in such a way that the airport spokesperson seemed to indicate that the passengers had asked for the charge on the parking. Of course it could have been woefully misquoted but somehow i doubt anyone would want to be charged for parking.
Cardiff Airport you could be so great if you just got out there and saw how other airports worked, if you really wanted you could be a great transatlantic airport, take business away from the crowded South East for example. Put in Cardiff Parkway station on the mainline railway near J34 of the M4 bus people in. So many options but no ambition WAG this is what you should be putting your efforts into not bilingual nonsense , and yes I love our welsh language but jobs and people are more important)

Car park charges...

Couldn't agree more with Flower and the comment regarding getting priorities right! Yes, Welsh is important IN Wales but not to a supposedly international airport... ie no French/Spanish/German signage... I suggest that it shows the appathetic approach to foreigners and seems to suggest that CWL is a bucket and spade package holiday hub. These European people are important to CWL and , of course, the Welsh economy... so let's show it.

BHX charges for drop off/pick up - £1.00 per quarter hour.

Question New York

I see BRS seems to have a daily New York arrival at 08.55am with Continental airlines. Is this flight busy every day, is it business pax mostly or holiday makers too. Could CWL run this sort of flight, even if it was a couple of times a week, similar to Zoom?

Servisair have picked up an ad-hoc with Eurowings to Dusseldorf on 15th June with a BAe 146-300 aircraft - nice to see something new on the ramp area !!!!

Shame it is not a daily link between CWL & DUS !

Can also see that the inbound XL Airways flight ex SFB on the 10th now downgraded to a B767-200 operating via Halifax, still good to see the very slow increase on trans-atlantic flights with XL Airways compared to previous years. Lets hope they go weekly for Summer 2009.

I also see that Aer Arann are operating the CWL-GLA and CWL-CDG flights for Flybe this week due aircraft shortage and ironically Logan Air operating the CWL-ORK and CWL-DUB routes for Aer Arann with their Saab 340's.

To explain to you why the WW2967 - Tenerife was showing up on the board.

There has been a camera crew at CWL for the whole day, and it was authorised by the PR department that it would be allowed for them to use some of the desks and gates etc including setting up a flight that would not confuse the normal public.

This meant that with agreement of BmiBaby, Airport and Aviance meant that a flight was set up in the FIDS showing as the WW2967 TFS.

In fact the WW2967 is a murcia flight which operated later that afternoon.

Hope that clears that mess up.

ghost flights/TV productions...

Pity they can't make up a few more real fights, eh !
Apparently the cast, some men dressed as women caused a headache when going airside as the security people didn't know whether to search the ''women'' with a male or female member of staff. TRUE !
I believe that the programme being produced is called Pastures New or New Pastures, anyone know any transmission details ? Perhaps Mr Horne or Peter Phillips were involved? !!

Just heard a clip on Real Radio stating that BMIbaby were looking to close/reduce operations at Cardiff? Is this just a load of rubbish or a solid rumour?

Yes seems as if real radio have picked this article up from IcWales, they site rising oil prices as the contributing factor but I think BE may have influenced there decision, the way I look it is they'll cut the regionals but keep the old money spinners going strong i.e. Malaga.

Agreed. Maybe we will just see the opening of some other popular medium haul destinations, allowing the likes of Flybe to take control of the domestic sector.

If BMIB pull back or out will this give the airline xxxxxxxxxxx you can't name ( ) a few options?

But saying that all airlines will cut back at all airports. Not looking good is it?
