Thursday's will be a busy morning and a remote stand will have to be used. With 2 x 757's and the Sanford which apparently is the A330.

10 Departures between 6am and 07:30am

With the expansion plans, are there any plans to accept more larger aircraft, at the moment we are capped at 3. Echeo is planned to be turned to a live taxiway with the extension of the pier towards BAMC. I wonder if the facilities may hinder possible further expansion.

Thomas Cook are operating the CWL-SFB flight for first 3 weeks of May 2008 then Monarch will take over the route for the rest of the season. Both airlines will use A330 aircraft.

Nice to see a TCX A330 at CWL !!!!!

Also heard that Onur Air will be operating to AYT,BJV,DLM and new for Summer 2008 ADB (Izmir) all with A321 aircraft. Nice to see a new Turkish destination !

Check-In will be a nightmare as obvious there are not enough desks - queue city ahead come May.

Any news on the 2nd weekly flight to YYZ with Zoom yet ?

Ah nice to be back to some good news for once, It seems there no need to worry about Zoom Vancouver is back up for summer 08 but once weekly and via Belfast again, Still nothing about the twice weekly service you guys are on about.

Uhhm i wonderd when FlyBe would launch some new routes, 4 thats pritty impressive for them. Nice bit of competition should give old Baby a kick up the a**e at last.

How is TOM looking for next summer a few holes still in the timetable would be nice for them to launch a few new routes from cardiff, hope bcn is back or taken by someone else from cardiff probably Baby as you know who seems to be a dead duck.

Great to see the CWL-YVR back for Summer 2008, still via BFS but great for CWL to keep this long haul route !!!

Also British Jet / Fly Hello will not be back at CWL for Summer 2008 as Holiday Bargains have entered a new agreement with Air Malta.

Looks like Servisair will have the majority of airlines whilst Aviance the majority of regular scheduled flights...........I think Aviance will only have KLM, BMI baby, Eurocypria, Balkan, Flybe & Eastern whilst Servisair will have Thomsonfly, Zoom, Skybus, Highland, Air Malta, Onur Air, XL Airways, Monarch, Thomas Cook Airlines - forgive me if I am wrong !

Aviance will have, Eastern Airways, Aer Arann, KLM, BmiBaby, Flybe, Eurocypria. Theres also Air Europa and Balkan (if their back next year).

Even though Aviance will have 2 less carriers next year (First Choice and Fly Hello), they will have increased number of daily flights thanks to the Flybe Expansion.

Aviance is known more for the scheduled airlines and Servisair for the Charter airlines. This is the main reason for Servisair having more traffic during the uplifts.

There is still one more possible contract up for grabs which is another big one for whoever wins it.

Glad our Orange firends are still alive & kicking - lets hope they release their flights schedule asap if they want to start in April !!!

No doubt it will be a big battle on securing their ground handling contract between Aviance & Servisair. I would look at Servisair as Aviance have their hands full with both BMI baby & Flybe and as Servisair are pathetically quiet they could concentrate & focus more on our orange brigade, nothing against Aviance though !!!

I have also heard that Servisair have the half of France flying in for the Six Nations in March - fun times ahead !

They seem to cope exceptionally well during Airlifts & Diversions and always have the support of the staff at BRS and other airports.

I think this is what Servisair need - a good break like this ! Both companies offer sterling service to their customer airlines so as you said interesting times ahead !!!

It will all come down to ££££££££££ I suppose !

Any idea on when their routes / flights / schedules will be released ? I have heard they have applied for slots to start 01 April, not that far away or will it be postponed again ?

Great to see Flybe showing a HUGE interest at CWL, lets hope for some nice "new" destinations ahead

Guys - The mods banned me for 10 days on the CWL thread for talking of (not even mentioning in name) a potential new airline. You have been warned!

Zoom are now selling 2 weekly YYZ flights.

Both depart on a Mon at 1000. (from June)
1 has seat plan for 757, other has seat plan for 767.
757 direct, 767 is via BFS.

Highly doubt 2 flights will depart at the same time on the same day, looks as if YYZ will be via BFS during high season.

The YYZ flight will be direct all season with the B757-200 with strong rumours of the 2nd B757 flight. The B767 will be for the YVR via BFS flight.

Reference to the BAA strikes at LHR, LGW, STN in January - will CWL be used as an alternate ? The BBC news stated that several airlines would use regional airports - with the CWL runway length they must be in with a good chance from the likes of BA and Virgin.................anyone heard anything on this ??????

CWL will be a good alternate along with BHX, MAN & PIK for long haul flights

I have heared that some enquiries have been made by British Airways, with them using their Apron area in front of BAMC for their flights.

BmiBaby have cancelled their Gdansk route until S08 from CWL, this is due to low figures. On the first Gdansk it was showing 16 outbound and 2 inbound. They will only offer 1 weekly flight to Gdansk instead of the 2 x weekly as planned.

At the moment BmiBaby are still planning to start operatingthe Warsaw 3 x weekly and continue into the summer.

I wonder which routes will be decreased in order to offer the Polish routes in the summer.

I know its not directly linked to CWL. But it shows how well the CWL-VLY route is doing so far.

If bmibaby are reducing the polish flights, this will give them even more chance of adding more destinations, e.g Barcelona which is always talked about, and Prague again...

Checking out the Airport FID's machine Zoom Canada & Zoom UK are using CWL during the BAA strikes.

Servisair have entered them operating to BDA,JFK,YYC,YYZ,YUL & YVR all with B767's.

I would imagine there would be more to follow with this decision soon - BA,DL,VS,CO to name a few............anyone heard more on this ?

BAA Strikes

I'm sure that BA will have a few flights from Cardiff if the strike goes ahead, Probably some 777 and 747's. There is a sheet for volunteers at Aviance that are willing to be rostered on if the strikes do materialise.

BmiBaby

I don't think they will do a BCN this summer unless they decide to chop the polish routes completely. I can't see why they didn't do this year with the Polish routes as they did with the Geneva last year.

Do a once weekly flights and then increase the following year if the loads are good enough. 5 weekly flights to Poland from Cardiff is bit of a jump from 0.

I wonder if they will be bringing back the Ibiza this year? It seem to do very good last year.

Looks like Zoom are in the process of telling their LGW passengers that their flights on the dates of the BAA strikes will be operating through Cardiff - check their "news page". They will be providing coaches between CWL & LGW.

It is good to see that one airline has got it all organised until leaving it until the last minute. Considering the first day is less than 6 days away. I imagine the next couple of days there will be a bombardment of requests to Aviance & Servisair. At least Zoom can sit back & chill as all will be arranged !!!

Any news on any other airlines..................are we going to see some exotic airlines & destinations here at CWL from next Monday ?????

Have heard that SAA South African Airways have asked Aviance to look after x3 A340's - any more on this ?

Just checked - all 340's need approx 3000m runway fully loaded, 11hrs to SA full of pax must be pretty fully loaded! May need a tech stop from CWL!
