When you look at the Lahore departure board for the Shaheen Air flight s it shows the destination as "Bredford" for Bradford.

I'm surprised that they haven't changed the name back to Yeadon yet, As Leeds & Bradford have nothing to do with the running of the Airport, Since the council's cashed intheir shares.

Let's leave LBA as LBA!! East Midlands will always be East Midlands in my book! Never "Nottingham Leicester Derby International" or whatever name was thought up for it

This is just because of the KLM connection, no other reason. If you look the website also lists Humberside, which has nowhere near a direct flight there, it lists others too I just thought listing Humberside kind of proves it is not a list of direct flights, or direct flights that are going to be started anytime soon.

Unlikely given 1-June is just two days hence.. I'm reliably informed the press article in Pakistan which referred to this was hastily withdrawn soon after publication yesterday.

Newscaster normally seems right about such things. I wonder if s/he has mis-typed the date, as PIA seem to be having a general overhaul of their UK flights including rerouting two of their New York flights away from MAN and via Dubai instead.
Actually just checked PIA website: no mention (as yet) of Bradford (or Leeds), but all PK701/2 flights seem to have gone from MAN by late July, leaving just one flight a week.

Thinking about Shaheen, I think it was a 'pathetic' excuse to finish LBA.

They won't be coming back.

sharm el sheikh is only operating for 3 months at the moment tho, but guess end of april is the end of the winter season so will have to wait and see if it continues into summer. anyone heard if there are developments on the terminal extensions/general infrastructure plans? really hope some plans are announced for the winter, lba is struggling with the throughput this summer

PIA

A reliable source gives Wed and Sat from sometime July but no a/c type given.

This has been backed up by another relaible source on another site giving the same from early July with A310.

Looks promising.

'public Transport'

Sorry to intrude on Islamabrad but does anyone know why the 'public transport' from LBA is actually a one taxi firm monopoly supported, literally, by a bad bus service ? e.g. had to wait over an hour on Monday afternoon for a 757 (bus no.) to main city

I agree about the bus service, When we got back from Prague last year we had to wait almost a hour for a bus, get your finger out metro/first one bus and hour at peak time.
