No Rinty that is not what I mean, so please don't post trying to make it look like that. As said by BFS101, had WW done the routes from BFS I would have posted the exact same thing except in the BFS thread

So WW couldn't make it work at Man, marginally the 4th busiest airport in the UK, but expect to make it work against better competition in a market of 1.7m at Bhd? Maybe I'm just stupid, but I can remember Pra lasting about 3 months from Bfs and constant chopping and changing of times to Man, Bhx and Ema. So who on here will book their flights for their main holiday next year on WW?

INKJET ,I worked for them for 10 years plus so probably know more than you could ever imagine. Most of us bailed out as we could see the whole group was going down the pan then, and has continued ever since.I aint no spotter......I was actually one of the steering group who brought WW to Manchester in the early days when it started as a reaction to Go coming into EMA.May I suggest you do you homework before spouting off.

Given that the meeting planned for the 6th June is a prelimiary meeting to ascertain levels of interest and procedural matters does anyone have any idea of when the actual inquiry will take place and a likely timescale for the outcome?

According to letters recently sent out to various parties by the PAC on the proposed runway extension application (Z/2008/2306/F).

They state in the letter,

"The Commission will be in a position to hold the inquiry towards the end of 2011. However, it wishes to avoid making arrangements only to have them put on hold due to arguments about, for example, the adequacy of the environment statement"

Based on this and all things going without further delay I think we'll be lucky to see the inquiry up and running before 2012. If all goes in the airport's favour then 6 months inquiry and at least 6 months building work - so realistically close to 2014 before runway would be operational.

It will be a major problem for the management and the owners if the runway isn't extended until 2014. The recent airlines deals are not generating any significant revenue, it's not generating any significant commercial income, despite the new O'Briens and the upmarket gift shop, and the interest on the whopping £132m cost must be very significant indeed, even if the cost has been written down already.
Perhaps this should be in the marginal airport thread!

Question

I notice outbounds to LGW now show BA codes as well as Flybe's own flight number. Have Flybe codeshared with BA before? If not, can anything be read in to this?

Hey there ALLMCC; BE & BA do codeshare on other routes but it seems to be mainly the routes that BA transferred to BE as part of the sale of BA Connect business some years ago, and as BA do own 15% of BE it makes sense that they support each other with transfer passengers! Would rather see BA back in NI all the same!!!

Last EZY to LTN

Think tonight is the last EZY to LTN departing at 2100. Sad to see it go as its good to have a bit of " variety " at BHD.

BMI Baby

It would seem that WW are stopping the Cardiff link at the end of October - no surprise really as this route would never have supported two carriers.

I think your a month or so out of date im afraid. bmibaby are pulling bases at both CWL and MAN to open up a base at BHD, they will however continue to fly between MAN and BHD for now.

bmibaby.com route update

Interesting question, looking at the prices on the WW website it would suggest that either side of the weekend the loads are week with the mid day weaker still, where base price is around .54p

Still no sign of next Summers program from BHX & EMA
