Saga Airlines
Scottravel Holidays are using Saga Airlines for their season long flights to Dalaman from BFS, Thursdays. Any word on the aircraft type to be used, anyone heard of them, used them before???

Depart Belfast
Flight No. SGX2104
1920
Arrive Dalaman
15 September 2009
0710
Depart Dalaman
Flight No. SGX2103
1150

Appear to have a fleet of A310's, B737-400's and B737-800's, although a quick search seems to show these aircraft are on lease to Air Algerie and Ariana Afghan Airlines. Any information???

Saga Airline's flight is due to start into BFS on either Tuesday or Thursday night, depending on the source. They have taken delivery of a former Air Berlin 737-800 (ex D-ABAN) last week and re-registered TC-SGH. It is supposed to be in an all-white scheme. Will be interesting to see what appears as they're also subbing-in Viking B738's too.

On the subject of Turkish flights, anyone know the equipment to be used by Onur for Dalaman and Bodrum, A300 and A320's again??

well it appears EZY is going to copy their winter 08/09 schedule for 09/10.. which is good news for both EZY employees and Menzies staff... EI could be interesting as they are taking on TFS but also keeping AGP for winter... although im afraid that the 737 fleet at BFS is going to take a hammering as the number of times SR Tech has been called out to them has increased in the last 2 months
Dubrovnik Airlines (the MD-82) has reduced their summer schedule dramatically (think it used to be every saturday last summer...) so far theres only 2 confirmed flights, which both fall on a Saturday
Heard that Aviance may have won a few contracts from Servisair, dont ask me what ones as i dont know, but it could have been the reason Servisair made a few more staff Redundant about 6-8 weeks ago.. and yet they took on around 15 temporary summer staff last week...
Aircraft marshalling was supposed to be handed over from Airport Operations to the handling firms (not sure if it was to one specific company or to each firm for their on A/C) at the end of March, however it appears this has been hit on the head
The new airbridge is a great job, although aircraft might have to be stopped a little further back on stand 22 due to the airbridge being longer (even when closed fully) than the old one.. which will then affect the road behind 22

Shame about Dubrovnik Airlines, something a bit more unusal at BFS, both the airline and equipment. But guess Croatia is pretty well served already this summer, esp with passenger numbers down. Hopefully jet2.com will be pleased with the service and keep it for summer 10.
tigger2k8,
Can you confirm if EI are down to 2 based units for the winter; and any word on the rumoured EZY weekly NCE flight over the winter, presumably not if schedule is a copy of 08/09.

I have just been checking Easy flights for a business trip to London in June. They appear to have reduced all 3 London routes to 3x daily midweek. I have said before that in my opinion Easy were in danger of doing damage to their network out of Belfast by taking the axe too severly and I think that is happening here. I was checking 9th June. Now the times make it hard to do a day return from the same airport and it's not that handy if the part of London you want to go to is convenient to say Gatwick and then your return is from say Stansted. The only early morning option that day is Stansted, no early flights before 2.00pm to either of the other airports.

Yep, boh Jet2 and Croatia airlines (not sure how often Croatia airlines will be flying the route, but they appeared one day last week...) have the route well served
I cant say anything about EI down to 2 base aircraft, but theres still a few routes yet to be confirmed if they are operating or not... So far we are waiting on BCN, CDG, FCO and MXP.. just because they are not on the booking system doesnt mean they are dropped..
at the minute their schedule is possible for 2 base aircraft
over winter (08/09) all 3 base aircraft have been the first 3 flights to depart in the morning (Sundays), unless the odd charter appeared..
Sunday 15th Nov (Winter 09/10)
BFS-ACE - 06:45 (which returns to BFS at 16:10, which then departs for AGP at 16:50) could be a tight turnaround as that will be a crew change, 4+ ULDs coming off then going on, which no doubt will be blocked by Interserve and Alpha, not to forget the 140-170 passengers that will need to come off and go back on lol
BFS-LHR - 07:40 (LHR runs all day, which is 3 flights)
with BFS being more successful than they had thought, i cant see them down-sizing operations (yes they did take a hammering from Nov - 12th Dec.. as did easyJet, bmibaby and Jet2 on their routes) ... during winter 08/09 a base aircraft sat on the ground until 10:50 before departing to CDG and arriving back to go to BCN/MXP (depending on the day)... they could do this again with the unconfirmed routes, but they probably dont know yet themselves
As for the EZY NCE flight, seems like its not going ahead the last scheduled flight is 8th November i think and their winter schedule is confirmed (excluding LGW), although subject to change depending on bookings
I wonder if they plan to take a 737 off BFS during winter and use the LGW crew operating the A319 again

Quote from Belfast International airport......
"For this winter, Thomas Cook Airlines will operate nine destinations in total from Belfast Airport. These include Arrecife in, Alicante in Spain, Dalaman in Turkey, Fuerteventura Las Palmas, Lanzarote and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Larnaca in Cyprus,
Monastir in Tunisia and Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt."
Thats alot more than usual is it not? Correct me if I am wrong but were there not just 4 this winter? Are they getting another plane?
