Anybody have any idea when Aer Lingus Belfast to Tenerife goes on sale? Fed up paying rip-off prices with Thomas Cook since Jet2 pulled out of the route.

Good news regarding Jet2.com flights to TFS. Weekly flights on a Friday:

08.30 - 13.00 BFS - TFS
13.55 - 18.40 TFS - BFS

Belfast based aircraft?? Does this signal the return of the 757.

Wonder how they will shape up if Aer Lingus joins the battle. Twice weekly TCX flights (Tues, Fri) and weekly TOM flights (Fri) already on sale for winter 09/10.

it'll be quite interesting..... altho in saying tht AGP and FAO are served by EZY and EI on a 5/6 weekly bases but they both attract very very good loads..... but i dont know how well a route will do with 3 airlines providing it...

I notice that a Ryanair flight from Stanstead diverted to Dublin tonight, why go to Dublin instead of BFS.
Also out of interest will Ryanair lay on coaches to bring the paxs to Belfast or is it every man for themselves.

DUB is one of Ryanair major bases so will be the first port of call for all BHD diverts if enough time is given. Allows the plane to be manoeuvred more easily and probably saves on costs etc.

If I am wrong please correct but I believe that Ryanair will have to pay for transport as they have landed in a "foreign country."

Sorry just to correct FR6129 reported severe turbulence within the vicinity of BHD and entered the holding pattern. After an approach which resulted in a go-around, the crew tried BFS but due to adverse weather conditions, they then diverted to DUB.

BFS is actually the preferred diversion airport for FR from LDY and BHD. Due to the weather being an "act of god" no airline bears any responsibility towards accomodation or any related issues.

Transport from Diversions

No I can't believe that. I know if jet2 have to divert to DSA instead of LBA, coaches are put on, indeed a company is contracted for that.

Goodbye Milan??

It would appear on the Aer Lingus website that bookings to Milan are only being taken up to 21 September 09, however the timetable on the website citing flights up to 24 October 09. Is the route being pulled from the end of September then? Wonder if this links with possible TFS flight, though with the longer sectors to TFS, timetable may need to be reworked. Are there any other destinations being consider to fill the gaps Milan will leave, or up capacity on existing routes?

Munich is still bookable up to the end of October 09, is Munich here to stay?? Must be performing better than Milan I'd guess.

I mentioned earlier in the Aer Lingus discussion that Milan and Munich seem to be the weakest routes from Belfast. They always seem to have rock bottom fares and are the only routes that have remained in the £9.99 sale which ended for all other routes at the end of last month. I wouldn't be surprised to see Aer Lingus drop Milan.

£9.99 sale prices no longer available, well to Munich anyway. Checked a couple of days ago and still appeared to be sale prices. Fancied a weekend break in Munich end of October, but prices now are free oubound but £19.99 taxes, charges; and free inbound, but £31.97 taxes, charges. Base price now appears to be £51.96 before baggage.

Still an excellent price...
