Its because staff are finally complaining about it because the craters in the car park are damaging our cars, and also the way people park is a p**s take, there is no need to park on the grass at the top of the rows, as you now 2 of our girls crashed into each other as you cant see around these idiots that park there, yet no one does anything about it.
Every noticed pax parking in our car park, even tho there is signs saying "STAFF ONLY" no wonder we have to park at the back in Ponteland almost, while pax get the front row of OUR car park (oh the commuting BA and Virgin crew, im sure when it says STAFF CAR PARK it means NCL based staff)

Yeah but some idiot actually placed them so they almost stretched accross the whole entrance last night. I've got loads of time off this winter so I don't mind going there with a bucket of hard core and a cement mixer - cash only though gov!
Mmm, still can't belive C actually managed to write her car off in the process??????
Being serious though, I hope the Airport can introduce a card reader by the entrance to the staff car park or something similar. If NCL is as busy next summer as it was this year (or hopefully even busier) then parking will become a nightmare. As you say Channex101, I have seen pax. parking there on many occasion and I don't mean staff going on their hols.
It should be open to NCL ID pass holders only - the same as MAN, LBA, LGW, LHR etc etc etc. If your a positioning crew you'll just have to go in the short-stay and claim the money back off your company. The same as we all have to do at other UK airports.
I've finished moaning now, for the moment!.....................................

"Easyjet did say 3 new routes from NCL next summer" Not seen this before, they dont usualy give anything away like that.
" 8 aircraft " I think 5 or 6 more like it, at a push maybe 7.
I think the way things are going the reduction in pax nos next summer could hit double figures.
Hope thats not the case but on current information unless something changes its quite possible.

XL and Libra holidays
See that XL have bought into libra holidays.
So they own Kosmar holidays and now have around 20% share in libra.
Libra still have some routes on sale like jsr.

Summer 08 flights to chania
Libra are selling the above flight on a tuesday
Airline stated at the minute is XLA.
flight leaves ncl at 11.30 in the morning and leaves chania at 19.00
So chania can now be deleted off the list of routes that had been dropped!!

yet more purgatory for the long suffering NCL employees
I was at work yesterday this was the talk of day, I talked to people from just about every dept on the airfield and do you know what? I never found any one with a bad word to say about DL appointment! I think you are a bit out of touch!

Ginga,
I don't think one man either brings or loses a new airline to the airport.
He may have the final say on rebates etc. but he does have to look at the airport as a whole, their current customer base and not prejudice this by stepping over the line for one additional route.
I've worked with, and against, him in the past; he proved to be a very good messenger for the previous regime - this does not mean he would have made the same decisions had it been within his gift - and he has his positives and negatives, like all of us; one thing is for sure is that he has the well being of the airport in his blood and he's not a 'new' face out to make a name for himself.
What will be crucial is who he recruits into the business over the next 12 months or so. This will show which direction he will take the airport in.
I wish him well and acknowledge that it is quite an achievement, on a personal level, to do what he has done since joining the airport as a fireman.

Great to see Eastern base a bigger aircraft at ncl.
pitty the stavanger is via ABZ and not direct.
Wounder if WF are going to pull off the Newcastle to stavanger route soon??
last year the route was daily now its down to 3 times a week with WF.
If its true about JET2 dropping the bergan maybe Eastern will look into this route also?
