xl - sat op
If you look there is now a change to solve the 3 flights on sat so8 problem, the pmi doesnt go now so different time for RHO, DLM morn dep, rhodes night.
Still room for more flights to be added though e.g. thurs ACE, nothing in morn, doesnt dep till 1620?
Would still expect to see more releases from them yet.
So if TCX are adding A330 to do SFB, is this aswell as TOM? expecting to see alot more long haul charter routes this year then? What will we see from TOM s08,
1 x 737
2 x 757
1 x 767
or
1 x 737, 1 x 757, 1 x 767 ?

Looks as if the Long haul market is picking up if TOM and TCX are operating SFB. Are MON also operating this?. Also POP with TOM next Year. I Would think Maybe 1 737, 1 757 1 767 for TOM.

TOM is more likely to be 1x737, 2x757 and 1x767 part based as the long haul is in addition to short haul and with the ex-FCA pax moving from TCX to TOM both 757s are still needed unless there is a huge capacity reduction.

Heard an aircraft departing Manchester to Newcastle yesterday evening reporting a loud bang from the direction of the nose gear and to have fire crews on arrival, as he thought that the nosewheel had exploded on departure.
Anybody know anything about this or who it was, did not ask as i thought they might be preoccupied

Heard today that the EK was full (overbooked) for FRi,SAT,SUN this weekend which is good news!
I aint sure on where the Rumour of CIA returning in Summer 08 is coming from but thats the first ive heard of it!
As far as I can tell with Easyjet only 5 a/c required for the full winter (nov-mar)

The longhaul expansion does make a difference from all the ALC, PMI, AGP etc - good for the NCL network and choice of routes available. I do, however still think that due to the reduction in capacity from the likes of XLA and their associated brands, along with what looks like a reduction from EZY and LS NCL will see a drop in passenger figures for Summer 08, even though some routes have been added (EK, BE etc).
Are all the listed longhaul flights operating, 2 x CUN a week seems alot??
Who is the TS operating on behalf of?
HH6702 where did you find a preview of Summer 08, any chance oc a copy?

Great news on the EK service....well done EK and NCL marketing for a good job!
Also, TOM are operating a Punta Cana flight next year too from NCL - I'm guessing using the part-based B767.

Summer 2008
I think its Thomsonfly only to CUN next summer.
Jet 2, Whats happened to the rumors of expansion next summer. Any more on this or is it an actual reduction, going by whats released to date and the delay in releasing other existing or new routes??.

The advance summer 08 longhaul programme appears on the airport website under Timetable, Winter 07/08.
Don't forget the Lufthansa Dusseldorf route becomes 2 x daily, which adds more pax for next summer.

With all this concern about lower pax no.'s for S08, then perhaps we should really be taking a step back & looking at the net progress over the past few years, rather than adding to ever increasing paranoia as to whether LS & EZY will or wont operate this or that route which seems to provide ever a greater amount of fodder for the pax no. counters out there. The bottom line is that NCL in S07 must have been operating at around 100% capacity, there have been well publicised issues with security / imigration queues and with baggage handling. The doom merchants even prophesised chaos on the checkins once EK commenced. I presume that ideal aggregate expansion is with a balanced route structure. As such longhaul appears to be in growth, scheduled routes need to be promoted & developed as much as practical & if the short term fall out is at the Loco end then so what. Just because another Loco base wherever in the UK announces a new route to MAD or where ever need not be a cause for concern as long as NCL invests in its own infrastructure to be able to cater for future expansion which will come with resource & effort directed in the right direction.

Fall out / Casualties from last week's DfT Raid
Security
Does anyone know any facts as to why this is happening?
From the outside it would seem that the airport have failed in one or more key areas:
Training of staff
AMD/x-ray maintenance
Procedural failings
Whatever anyones' views are of the DfT, they would not impose this disruption to the travelling public without real reason/s.

Skyman771--yes but less passengers spending less money in the terminal (even loco ones), less shops , less rent,
less fuel etc. Less income. Less investment.
On the longhaul could there be errors on the airport website. You cant seem to book the Monarch fortnightly CUN flight shown, only the Thomsonfly weekly one, and the Monarch POP is a weekly service on the booking systems not fortnightly as shown in the airport guide. The 2x weekly SFB (Thomsonfly and Monarch) and the weekly POJ (Thomsonfly) are all bookable.
Not sure about GSM to Toronto.

GSM
Flew NCL-YHM out 30.09 and returning 06.10 and LF was about 95% with only about %15 continuing on to STN so hopefully this will continue next year.
