AB started GLA and BFS from STN in direct compatiton with EZY,
I have been told that any expansion in the UK would be through
Stansted, I might be wrong but thats what I have been told.

Whats the other two new routes somebody said before 3 new routes from AB.

If they do STN it wont last long!!

I did hear however a few months again that easyjet maybe moving a few flights to LTN to free up room at STN for more new routes but easyjet holding onto the slots there.

MAN has flights direct to germany and to STN but they are the only airline on the MAN-STN route.

As i said before my money is on SXF,MUC,CGN maybe DUS!
Hopefully the above on at least 4 or 5 times a week!!
daily would be fab!

They have a codeshare with HLX so they may even take over the hannover
AB have never codeshared with HLX. They have done with sister airline HapagFly, though as both airlines are now one, TUI Fly, the codeshare deal has been axed (and replaced by onw with Condor)

It's the design !! Only two barriers serving a split parking area to get out (escape!). Both accept tickets which have variable charges down to nil for a quick "drop off & collect" which can become impossible if some one in front makes a hash, thus invalidating their ticket & causing a chain reaction where everyone is on the 'last minute' or potentially on an excess charge. You then also get the clever s*d who anticipates the queue and waits till near the barrier then 'legs it' out to validate their ticket at the remote pay machine thus temporarily abandoning their vehicle in a theoretically moving queue. The internal car park exit tail back then crosses the entry access and way ho! 'Log jam! IF something isn't done this is going to be the same ALL summer'
Problem is the same parking capacity was fully utilised when 2 Million pax. now 5 Million no land, no multi storey, serious politics with rival off site parking business. Curious how a totally disproportionate amount of room remains available for ONLY the selected airport taxi monopoly in front of terminal, forces ALL other drop off vehicles, including other taxis, into the above totally useless car park

Ezy -ncl 2 Ltn?

Someone said this was maybe a future EZY plan, and to reduce the frequency into STN?! Hope so, anyone shed any further light on this? I would definately be using this service for work and offers a lot of EZY connections from LTN!!

NCL1

I heard it on the grapevine about 12 months ago and got meself all excited but was told it wasn't going to happen as it would cannibalise the STN route, maybe something has changed since, hope it has but i'm not so sure.

Jet 2

Saturdays Palma was delayed due to the crew arriving late back on the Friday Evening, i´m not sure how much rest time they need to have, but leaving at 11.15 wouldn´t have gave them enough. The delay was known the night before and was posted on the departures board during the early hours of Saturday Morning. I´m not sure if thats enough time to get a replacement crew, but the aircraft just sat on a remote stand all morning. I´m coming back on Saturday - fingers crossed!

An abstract from a recent posting on the DTV site :-
Conspiracy theorists espouse the belief that the present situation is being deliberately engineered by Peel as a pre-cursor to closing the airfield "Teesside" permanently, with a view to turning the place into an housing development.
Whilst of course these rumours and theories could be easily quashed, management remain steadfastly silent on the subject. Direct communication between management and ATC within recent times has been a big fat zero.
Whilst I for one would not condone this line of thought which in all likelihood is total bk's it does throw open the line of thought in NCL's ability (not!) to take up any slack........

Noooooooooo!

NCL can't cope at the moment, no more PAX until the infrastructure is brought up to scratch.

Any particular part of the airport that doesn't meet your standards?

We seem to cope with MME's traffic each time its CAT1 only ILS lets it down in fog!

Regular 25min queues coming back in at passport control, the endless time it takes to check people in, the drop-off/pick-up arrangements, the quality/choice of refreshments in the business lounge(on the odd occasion I get to use it, but well behind most other places), busing to/from planes, luggage left behind, some check-in staff being able to give out 2nd stage boarding passes(eg from AMS to XXX) while others can't do it are ones that instantly spring to mind.

Well, so far he hasn't mentioned the lack of a/c parking stands for expansion, the continuing lack of support staff for buses/ambulifts (how many years has this been going on now?), the constant breakdown of the baggage belts, the restrictive arrangements at certain gates where pax cannot be embarked and disembarked simultaneously even though the a/c are on separate stands, the part-time security office.

However, on the bright side, at least it isn't Teesside.

to be fair I should have added that the parking barriers keep crapping out if you look at the magnetic strip on your parking ticket in a funny way and then the lovely folks at Meteor amble up in their own sweet time whilst chaos ensues !
