The statement " No I do not work for Northern" is incomplete really isn't it!!

Hows about " I do not work for Northern but used to work for Cleveland Flying School"

Regards

Roj

This appears to be almost incestuous. Is there anyone who dosen't know who anyone else is?..
Even I don't know who I am so I suppose I am barred from commenting on a small company who everyone who "dosen't" work for says are decent chaps and are jolly good fellows. Unfortunately it is the decent people who suffer in an economic downturn whilst the s***s prosper. I do hope they are not in trouble.

Just arrived back from a flight from Geneva to Newcastle, Bumped into a neighbour who was part of a large group, I wonder how many other teesside residents have had to trail back down the A1 from this flight alone ?

More jobs going on the trains with the withdrawal of cooked food. Mind you the catering crews may have accelerated their own demise especially on the East Coast Line. You could never get a breakfast travelling from Darlington to Kings X if the train had originated in Scotland. ( Sorry Sir unexpected demand this morning!!!!. Every morning..) If it originated in Newcastle the Restaurant car closed as the train picked up speed away from the station.
It doesn't matter now though as the air route is no competition.
Sounds as if Peel may have an input into the rail operation as the service is contracting, prices rising and no one makes a profit.

Back to Northern Aviation, do we think they are going to move all their operations up to Newcastle, is this another victory for Peel!

Rest of England cut off

Heathrow flights finished. East Coast railway line struggling. Teessport up for sale as it's owner's are struggling with huge debts. If anything happens to the A1 the rest of the country will be cut off. How will they survive without us.?

Just to cheer you up, paarmo, the footy team are in dire straits as well. Shame, I like Gareth Southgate.

I know you will not want to hear this , but last summer I watched the entire Middlesbrough footy team come back off a summer trip (training I presume). Trouble is, they were on a Jet2 flight into LBA. That says it all about DTV doesn't it if the local footy team can't even fly from there.

The Jet2 flight was a private charter
Can't see where this is leading, so no service but then, either (i) DTV unable to handle flight, or (ii) the Boro unable to afford the charter, or (iii) Jet2 simply unable to accommodate an alternate flightplan routing LBA-DTV-Destination & return. As it is unlikely to have been (i) then so what is the point of all this ?

Correct me if I am wrong parsnip old bean (or should I say old root vegetable ) but you are hardly a bringer of news views and political insight.
Part of the reason for this thread is entertainment.
If you don't like it then either give us the inside track on what is happening in the private world of Peel Holdings or let us continue in our own silly world.
Must go now as the staff do not like me using the computer when I am due medication.

Paarmo, its late to be on tinernet, honest folks are in bed by the time you are posting
I was just responding to Skyman who was asking what the point of something was (quite what I have forgotten) As far as my political insight goes I thought I had made a point many posts ago, which is sort of similar to that of Lord Bates' in the press today.
Somewhere in the boardroom of Peel Palace some top johnnies were asking the same question as Lord B. " does the region justify two airports?" or shall we buy into this massive flat site which the councils are giving away at a bargain price and one day develop the lot as a second Ingleby Barwick, or if the economy is right, millions of sq ft of industrial units ?
Pprune contributors can live in their "silly worlds" as you put it, but Property Magnates always have plans A, B and C ready on the shelf to take account of the opportunities that come along. Thats why they make millions and the rest of us prat about on here.
It would be nice to think that I'm wrong but everything that I have seen in recent years suggests I won't be far out especially when the first tin sheds go up on the south side,
now back to FMTTM.......................................up the boro

The problem with Lord Bates is that although he was a local MP for a couple of years he was parachuted into a safe seat to protect him from the rigours of the real world. If you follow his reasoning 50% of airports in England would be closed and as you and I know this is a ridiculous proposition.
Mind you the Scotsman's reply at PMQ's didn't make sense either. Heathrow expansion will stimulate local airport growth. The third runway is at least 15yrs away on past building projections and it is highly likely not to go ahead at all.

I agree on both your observations.
Politicians will not save Teesside Airport.
I hear that Peels aviation people were lobbying ministers yesterday, but quite what they think they will get out of it is unclear ,it seems as though its the right thing to be seen to be doing irrespective of the hidden boardroom agendas. Maybe a bit of energy spent cosying up to O'Leary might be a better way forward ......if they are really serious.

Legislation was put in place last year to knock that stupidity on the head. Heathrow Runway 3 will be the first big project of national interest to go through under the new rules.
