Press reports say all the paperwork is out of the way, but doesn't go into specifics. The only ETOPS reference in particular I can find is this.
FAA certifies three Norwegian B737s for ETOPS-180 - ch-aviation.com

, Dublin and Belfast to be announced also - good news for cork at long last 👏👏👏

Surprise, surprise, it seems DUB is taking the lion's share of the Norwegian transatlantic services. The Irish Times is reporting there'll be 3 flights a week from ORK...and 12 from DUB! (No mention of SNN frequency in the article)

Exactly Cyrano, one sure fire way of gauging this is the sudden drop in EI's US fares from DUB which held high right the way through the usual January sale period and now on the cusp of spring there's significant price cutting.

Cork is a token gesture it seems and Dub is the prize they are after. Hardly shocking I suppose. I thought the original plan was for a 5w service to the Bos area(now TF Green).

The lead in fares may look cheap but it all adds up if you want reserved seating, baggage, pre ordered meals, even if you decided not to use those add on's your be hard pressed to actually find those cheap fares.

I just priced a trip to Boston for July from Cork (Norwegian) and Shannon (EI). 2 adults , 2 kids with checked baggage, seat selection and standard food. Dates are 20th July, returning 26th.
From Cork allowing 2hours at airport, flight time 7h 45 min, and 1hr 6min transfer (google maps) to the city. Total 10hrs 51mins , cost €2,997.
From Shannon allowing 2hr road trip, 2hrs at airport and 6hr 50min flight time is 10hrs 50 mins , cost 2,422.
On these dates it is €575 Euro cheaper from Shannon with EI.
Has anybody else made similar comparisons?

The €69 fares didn't last long from either cork or Shannon prices now comparative with aer lingus without the add ons aer lingus include as standard shouldn't be an issue on the cork service but hard to see what the differentiating point for Shannon services is unless the airports chosen attract new customers
