Quite sure there's been activity on the Liverpool thread since the beginning of September but it seems to have disappeared. Anyhow, EZY has released it's main S10 schedule for Liverpool which indicates a 10th aircraft on base for the summer.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport wins top awards
At the inaugural Holiday Extras Customers' Awards ceremony held at The Hempel Hotel in London on Monday evening, Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) came away with two of the top awards - being voted ‘Best Airport' and ‘Best Airport Car Park' by Airport users, having delivered excellent customer service and consistent value for money.
The Awards were organised by Holiday Extras, the company that takes care of the 'extras' that make a holiday complete. The company is the UK market leader in discounted airport parking and airport hotels and made arrangements for 6.2 million travelers in 2008/09 selling 433,186 hotel rooms, 1,114,700 parking bookings as well as travel insurance and holiday car hire
At the event, Holiday Extras were celebrating the best of the air travel industry by asking the people who matter - their customers - what they think. Last Summer, more than 18,000 Holiday Extras customers cast their votes in the inaugural Holiday Extras Customers' Awards which are seen by many as the biggest and fairest travel awards. These travelers rated their air travel experience across ten categories, voting for 107 airlines, 26 UK airports and hundreds of airport hotels, lounges and car parks.
The stylish ceremony was hosted by renowned travel writer Simon Calder, with JLA fighting off tough competition from other UK Airports. The Airport's success on the night highlights how JLA now sets the benchmark for top quality service in air travel across the UK today.
Ian Smith, Head of Commercial Analysis for the Peel Airports Group commented, "It would have been a great achievement to have won one award last night, but to come away with two is tremendous. Much credit must go to the staff across the Airport who help to make the experience for our passengers an enjoyable one.
We've spent a lot of time recently improving the car park offer to compliment the Airport's friendly, hassle free and relaxed environment. The combination of value for money, vehicle security and the convenience of on-site parking has clearly benefited our passengers who have subsequently voted for JLA to be recognised as the best in the business for both on-site parking and the Airport as a whole."

Clearly NRU74 the consumers who voted didn't agree with you, or perhaps they just took a more rounded view of the whole experience, rather than focussing on one potential weakness? Perhaps you might also give some credit to the airport recognising that as passenger numbers grow the security search area will be a problem and so investing £12m to relocate and enlarge it over the winter?

Get ready for more awards.
Once the archietects get a look at the £12 mil expansion Peel will be knee deep in awards, converting the old easy maintenance hangar medivac into a security check area is going to enhance the Lidl alike terminal no end.
Maybe if they get a set of patio doors from B and Q we can have another departure gate.

OMG Dont make us laugh.Liverpool Echo and Radio Merseyside have both been on the case of LJLA over the spring and summer especially Bank Holidays were people have missed flights as being stuck at security. The queues most mornings have stretched back to the stairs at the John Lennon statue. As for security staff, the most ignorant unfriendly and sometimes agressive people one would ever have to encounter.

Nigel.Hayes007 - you must shop in some damned fancy Lidl's then. When was the last time you actually flew from Liverpool?
Mutleyshreik - If you look at most airport threads on this board at some point someone has had a moan about the 'attitude' of airport security staff. perhaps it's because they've had to deal with so many "ignorant, unfriendly and sometimes aggressive people" whilst just trying to do their job?

I accept most of your points in your post at #387, in fact if you excised the adjective 'potential' I'd agree entirely.Liverpool is the only airport this year that I've paid the £3 or thereabouts to queue jump the [very long] security queue. The queueing for security is [or appears to have been] better organised at LTN/EMA/MAN in my personal experience in 2009. Let's hope that some of that Liverpool £12 million will alleviate this.

And after the revamp there will still be a fast track route. Does that mean some queues will still be there, for you don't need a fast track if there are no queues?

Might do if they knew.anyway it is a little perk, plus I dont have to travel to Manchester anymore to fly to Montreal, I can fly from my local airport just like the thousands every month that fly KLM from Liverpool and dont have to use Manchester anymore.

Diversions out on Nov 9th
Just playing catch up and I note that there were several diversions out on on Monday 9th November, I guess due to fog?
I thought the ILS was now CAT 3, so was it not working or was there some other reason?
Cheers

ILS is still CAT II just at the moment but given the RVR was <150m most of the morning I'm not sure how much difference CAT III would have made to most of our operators...

Ah Thanks
I thought that the ILS had been cleared for Cat III operations?
I believe that Cat III usually means its OK for down to 75m in practical terms provided everything is working and the crew is certificated and the airline are cleared for this type of Ops. So it may have made a difference on this occasion.
