North West Air News
As from today the main North West Air News (NWAN) site is back up and running with a new host.
The site is still being developed but should still provide a good deal of information to all interested parties.
There is no Forum as yet but suggest visits to:
The NWAN site at Welcome to North West Air News or
The Friends of Liverpool Airport site at Friends of Liverpool Airport (FoLA)
should assist you and alert you when the forum is active again

Well it had their coat of arms on it and I was told they use it for all their away matches. I think the team use the upper cabin and fans etc. are carried in the lower cabin. Whether the plane is used exclusively by them I don't really know but it is in Pulmantur Air colours so it may be on long term lease.

It only had the Real Madrid crest and name applied to the forward fuselage, otherwise in Pulmantour livery. Nothing new in that.
Real Madrid have in the past, had their "regular" aircraft painted in full club colours. Recently they have been using a 757 and before that a Swiftair MD83.
They are only leased for specific flights and are used by the airlines for their business at other times.
It is not unusual in Spain for aircraft used by various football clubs to be treated as the 747 has been.

If you work at Liverpool John Lennon, take a look at this to get to/from work, discounts for airport & airline staff when paying on the coach.
The web site is up and running.
You can book online or pay on the coach.

Peel are looking for investment partners in their Peel Airports arm, which seeing the state of the economy at the moment, is a bit optomistic. They did a while back sell 49% of the Port of Liverpool for £775m which they had previously bought for £770m, a tidy profit over such a short time. However I cannot see that this time they will be so successful in attracting investors.
The announced £12m additional investment in LPL is not dependant on the success of this and will go ahead for completion next year. If you don't know, they are to move the security area into the hanger adjacent the terminal and all the retail which at the moment is landside will become airside. As at MAN the entry into airside after security will be through the Duty Free shop which was not that popular with passengers.
They say this will reduce the queues for security and increase revenue through the retail outlets. Whether the fast track will still continue I don't know. Time will tell.
