That explains the logo carried next to the forward rear passenger doors on OY-VKI (at least) seen in August

Heart looks a bit like the one (albeit different colour) from Liverpool Victoria Insurance. Not sure I like. A revision and update of the existing lottery would have been nicer. Hope they do a clean sweep of repaints instead of a MyTravel debacle. Agree looks very like Primera/Veuling/Jettime combo.
Was definitely time however for a Thomas Cook refresh. Noone can really do anything about the gawd awful 753 interior though as much as they might try.

I can't remember being on a Thomas Cook flight and not thinking the interior was poor. Hopefully the ripped seats and chewing gum stuck in various places will not become part of the new interior!
If ever there was a need for a make over.

Any Chance of TCX Returning to Luton?
Just wondering what the views are of Thomas Cook ever returning to Luton?
They haven't flown from the airport for a few years now, and would have thought their would atleast be a market a single A320/321 based at the airport?
Thomson are really the only charter carrier left at the airport basing 3-4 aircraft here in the summer months. While I appreciate Thomson's HQ is at Luton, they are only going to be basing that number of aircraft if there is the market. After Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham, I think it is there largest base, with a similar number at East Mids...
Going back 5-7 years ago before the Airtours and Thomson merger, we had two Airtours aircraft based at the airport (an A320 year round and DC-10 in the peak months) and both First Choice and Thomas Cook based an A320 at the airport. Also at this time Monarch had quite healthy charter programme from the airport and was beginning its transition to more scheduled services.

G-KKAZ has been withdrawn from use. Ferried LGW-MAN yesterday.
Looks as though they are indeed standardising the TCX fleet to all A321 as the A320's are around 10 years old, not that old for some charter aircraft.

Back in May there was an article announcing Thomas Cook signing a lease agreement with GECAS as part of it's fleet renewal plan.

It appears that Thomas Cook Cardiff is going to be a non thomas cook aircraft. Despite high load factors according to the civil aviation authority it seems welsh passengers are going to lose out again.
We all should be pleased these "wet leases" are coming in, to avoid routes being chopped, even if they can be a load of s**t sometimes!

Other bases are having capacity increase and Cardiff are to lose out despite high load factors. There are larger bases elsewhere where a mix of in-house and wet lease operation won't have such overall impact.
wet leasing an aircraft can have detrimental impact on the eyes of passengers especially if it leads to dispatch reliability being decreased. Also what happens if aircraft is AOG. Will Thomas Cook try and re-route one of their aircraft of will we have to wait for another wet leased aircraft to be positioned in from possibly outside the UK.

Mathers...
Glass half empty?
Cardiff's got TCX next year, perhaps you would be happier without (?)
It's a small world/heart at Cardiff for TCX, if it's leased in from someone/where else, live with it, at least it will be flying for TCX from Cardiff.

Of course it's better than not having anything at all however you will be suprised how 40 seats per flight can have a huge bearing on the stats which have only this year started to improve.
Also what about the excellent flight deck that have to relocate to new bases if appropriate. With the reduction of aircraft size also means reduction in cabin crew requirement for next year.
As for OTP and dispatch reliability then this is a different story.
The TCX product at Cardiff is currently excellent let down only by the TCX customer service department at HQ. The more people that have to deal with this department will have a different opinion of TCX as a whole.
As the saying goes

Its the start of half term in Scotland. Thomas Cook are operating 75 additional flights from GLA.
Over the weekend TCX aircraft will position up to GLA to operate additional flights to ACE, AYT, DLM, NBE, PMI, LPA & TFS.
TCX have done this for the past few years.
