MAG - Complete Ars--oles!!!
First Palmair die after 50 years in favour of Mr O'Leary and now the airport management are intend on committing complete commercial suicide!
They deserve everything coming to them!
Bring back Peter Bath from the grave!!! And his "best Airline in the world"!
The world of commercial aviation really is going completely bonkers!

So you're suggesting that BOH should have rejected ALL of FR's traffic over the years so that a one-aircraft airline may have survived?

Get real!

May I remind a few people that Mr Bath proposed to charge 10 pounds for entering his travel agent shops a few years ago just to browse and enquire about holidays. He would knock it off the cost of a holiday if you bought one from any of his shops! A very early case of rip-off Britain!
IMHO Bournemouth will never be able to compete with the likes of Gatwick, Bristol, Southampton, etc because it does not have a big enough catchment area. Niche markets yes and please get real there at Bournemouth.

But did the one-aircraft airline have the same airport operating terms as FR ?

Bournemouth handled 39 , 057 passengers in March

Top 5 routes

1 ) Geneva 6864 Easy Jet
2 ) Tenerife 5653 Thomson / Ryanair
3 ) Alicante 5341 Ryanair
4 ) Malaga 3117 Ryanair
5 ) Gerona 2627 Ryanair

Both Innsbruck and Alicante did well with INN full up again yet are being pulled next winter ?

TCR2 - The Simple answer is No !

I doubt that a level playing field exists at any Airport ! Which begs the question, what is the point of the CAA Rules if they are not enforced ?

Maybe the old Palmair 737 would have stopped the tumbleweeds blowing across the empty stands at BOH last & this winter.

On that subject, what will BOH be like winter 11-12, just one Thomson B738 ?

I agree about Air Southwest. Perfect size aircraft. Base 2 at BOH and concentrate on good timings to limited destinations, possibly Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Jersey and Dublin. Despite the negative postings about BOH on here re catchment area, accessibility etc etc am sure this could be made to work. Come on BOH management!

Air Southwest: perfect fit. Agreed.

Problem is they have new management and right now the last thing on Air Southwest's mind is expansion.

I am not sure how Eastern would feel about a BOH base either considering they have a considerable operation from SOU already.

My hunch is that they may get Air Southwest to do some SOU flights in the future.

The Thomson and Thomas Cook progammes for summer 2012 are out already
and it appears that Thomson have changed some of their destinations compared to
2011: -

Monday - Mahon ( new ), Las Palmas ( new for the summer ), Dalaman.
Tuesday - Palma, Tenerife
Wednesday - Ibiza, Paphos
Thursday - Palma, Antalya
Friday - Corfu, Dalaman
Saturday - Palma, Rhodes
Sunday - Palma, Lanzarote ( new for the summer )

- so Bodrum and Tunisia have been dropped and Sharm el Sheik is going winter
only.
On mondays the Las Palmas and Dalaman flights are showing similar departure
times,
so something will need to change.

Thomas Cook are offering roughly the same as this year: -

Fridays - Dalaman May-Oct (with a month long break in late June)
Saturdays - Antalya May-Oct ( with a break in late June & early Oct )

Anyone know the reason for the diversions this afternoon, by all accounts a Thomson 757, a BA 737 and two FlyBEs? Must have come in just after I had left work, so missed out on some rare 'excitement' at BOH. They appear to be diversions from Gatwick.

Today's miscreant was G-OOBM but I don't know which one was involved on the 29th.

Thumbs down Bournemouth Landing Fees

Why does Patrick Alexander not care about GA at Bournemouth? The very few shiny jets won't pay the bills if GA is driven out of BOH!

AMS Route BOH

Hi

I flew from Sou to Ams last fri on the first flight out and there was only 50 pax on it,when Thomsonfly operated the same route from BOH load factors were very high, obviously I don't know what the load factors are for the Flybe flights from Sou-Ams but was just wondering why on earth someone like Easyjet or even KLM Cityhopper do not fly from BOH as it it obvious that the service would be used,by the way the return flight from Ams-Sou the same day(last flight) was nearly full.

AMS

I have heard it rumoured that KLM have looked at it for the future, primarily as a feeder to their long haul network, but aircraft availability may be an issue so its not a short term priority.

KLM

Siggyboy the old rumour about KLM and BOH is just that, a rumour !

It comes up every other week or so and to be honest it is just a plane spotters fantasy and those that want to see a new arline at BOH instantly think of KLM being a possible contender!

Untill you see the official announcment from Air France/KLM or see a KL flight number on the screens at BOH it will always be a rumour, or rather a plane spotters rumour!

BOH lacks a good airline presence and those keen to see new airlines at BOH will just day dream about it, and KLM seems to be the airline that's always mentioned as it comes across as the most obvious but if they were ever to return to the south coast I am 100% sure they would return back to SOU over BOH!
