Anyone seen this man who was caught breaking into a car at the airport. http://www.mk-news.co.uk/news/bedfor...n%20camera.lpf Looks like one of the airports taxi drivers to me out shopping while he waited for a fare.

I feel so much sympathy with the folk in the Control Tower, to be continuous victims of such advertising is awful!

Does anyone know how this bypassed the planning regulations? Remember easyJet were not allowed to paint the portakabins orange so covered them in 'shrink wrap' to avoid the local laws!

The new interior is apparently "Rather posh"!

As for the car crime story.........Nice to know your car is being cared for within the confines of the airport car parks! If you read the text, the 'bait' was blatantly obvious so to lure the 'chance' criminal. A bit like leaving a bag load of honey sarnies in front of Buster?

With all the unrest within TUI AG, how much longer does the UK arm have, not another name for Britannia?

Thanks for the info, I see RYR website advising GRO-LTN diverted to STN but looks like he made LTN, also BGO-LTN showing as will divert to STN and then there is a EZY AGP-LTN showing on EZY web site as ETA-0050 guess he will have to divert aswell.

23.59 and 59 seconds yes
00.00.00 no.

As for the hangar I don’t think it needed planning permission for it to be painted orange but saying that I think the council or is it the airport who actually own the building. As for the portakabins I think they were only rented and it was portakabin that didn’t want their buildings painted.

Jetsetwilly et al - somebody must have decided to have been lenient on the Ryanair as Supp 6 to the UK AIP states quite clearly that the last landing aircraft must be on the ground by 23.57 local. In my experience, this has been enforced vey strictly indeed.

Buster - thanks for the link. Doubtless the NIMBYS all think the lack of action is all the fault of the airport rather than the council. Have the local press not done any digging into this - they normally like to take "a pop" at local politicians.

media release

At risk of crucification, I do think this is relevant to Luton airport discussion, and has been refered to several times over the last year or so:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6061960.stm

News that should be much welcomed by LTN airport users, customers, self loading cargo, airport staff and air crew alike.

You well might find some 'extra' security around the place on Nov 6th!

None required (no change of use). However, both LBC and NATS were consulted regarding the 'paint job' and easyJet was requested not to use gloss paint on the roof.
Until 30 Oct, Mon to Fri nights 2259-0445 UTC, i.e., it is open Sat and Sun nights.
No Sir! Until 30th November... However, the drain construction, culvert and cable ducting work could fnish about 7-10 days early, in which case reversion to 24/7 might happen before the end of November.
Thameslink will double capacity and increase from 51 to 172 the number of stations used by north-south services through central London.
Indeed, but - if the plans haven't changed since Thameslink 2000 was first mooted - from the central London to Bedford section, there's unlikely to be much increase in directly-served stations. Instead, most new routes running through London will interconnect at St Pancras (Thameslink platforms) for example, Guildford to Kings Lynn, and so to get to/from LTN will still require a change of trains. But if the overcrowding issue could be addressed, this would certainly improve airline passengers' experiences when carrying large and bulky luggage on these trains.

Hangar 89:

http://www.lutontoday.co.uk/ViewArti...icleID=1830074

Edit: Apparently easyJet are confident that they will not have to buy copious amounts of white paint and brushes, but then again, they will be dealing with Luton Borough Council.

The colour is not quite LibDem orange!

I fancy painting my bear palace dayglo yellow so all the happy passengers can give me a wave when Luton is on easterlies!

Why waste valuable hanger space.?

to make an EasyJet Office complex.

Is it that critical to have so many staff working so close to the operational areas, nice view I know, but how long before the noise is considered a problem.

Then there is a waste of valuable airport rescources.

What was wrong with the wedding cake in Wigmore, great pub next door, and a rubbish tip. Or even the old university residental unit next to the Shell station, or is it the inflite catering department dispatch. ??? Pub next door too.

Relocating the offices, would also potentally free up surface parking positions used by staff, when combined with Silver Jet's needs there soon will be only staff parking permitted on site.
