Errrrrrrr..... am I missing something ?, if even half of transatlantic routes from various UK airports that have been mooted on numerous postings as potential GSM operations next summer crystalise, then where is all this extra capacity to come from ?

Rumours have it that YYZ will be flyglobespan using the based aircraft at NCL which will be a B757

JFK or EWR 5x weekly and YYZ 2x weekly

I would like to see Zoom on the route also.

Any ideas why the XLA4203 from PMI has diverted to MAN?

I really am struggling to get my head around this.
Firstly a 5 weekly NYC service with no established agreement for onward connections, suggests no more than an enhanced 1980's Jetsave operation & similar in operation to the present weekly YYZ .
Secondly, you may get fairly decent load factors in the summer, but having said that YYZ capacity has historically been reduced over the years, again in the 80's were not both Wardair and CP air at one time concurrently offering YYZ from NCL?, and even then CP Air WERE marketing onward connections to YVR & even HNL !. Even this operation did not survive.
Yes I realise that things are perhaps 'different' now, but such a product in any form can hardly be compared to the recent Loco boom, and come the winter, then load factors will quite simply evaporate.
Thirdly to pick up on my original point, where is all this capacity to come from? 2 GSM 752's would be taken up on LPL and NCL op's, then there are all the numerous GSM offerings put about to Florida & other US destiantions from MAN & Scotland, together with built in redundancy. This all seems to me to be a very tenuous business plan supported by a serious amount of debt which to be serviced will require substantial returns from what are start up operations.
Finally an observation on the ongoing CO 'will they or won't they' saga, their recently released 2nd quarter report specifically states that other than some changes to their RJ fleet, other than two 777's they are taking no other aircraft deliveries in 2007 !. One can read into this whatever, but to operate additional transatlantic services in 2007 with their current fleet profile will require the release of 752's from where?, or are they actually not considering significant expansion in 2007 ?

NCL-LGW(BA)

Notice that this is being reduced to 3x daily MF for winter 2006/07 and summer 2007 despite an increase in pax this year.

Also has NCL lost the following routes from end of Oct ?

Berlin, Nice, Budapest(Easyjet)
Milan (Ryanair)
Murcia, Bergen, Cork (Jet2) and Pisa, Menorca (summer routes?)
Bergen (Wilderoe)

Quite a loss if it is correct.

Re Air Transat - Globespan the tour operator who charter TS for the majority of Canada-UK flights have apparantly ended their contract with TS, with GSM or Zoom most likely to pick up routes.

AC - Never heard that one!

CO/DL - The airport is desparately trying to attract an airline to offer direct scheduled services to the US.

Jet2 - It was always the plan to discontinue PSA and MAH for the winter schedules, though MJV will remain on a less frequent basis as will BGO, was also under the impression ORK would stay aswell.

GSM - Rumour does have it that the airport have been talking to GSM regarding NCL and expansion, though I'm not too sure another loco airline could be sustained at NCL doing shorthaul, possibly long haul if they guessed the market right, using maybe 757's?

FR - Have always been rumoured to expand at NCL but we have not seen much and frequency has been dropped on TRF and BGY routes, suggesting low pax numbers.

Easyjet - would be surprised if another based unit arrived at this time. Would think they will be sorting out their crewing crisis before another big expansion happens.

TOM - offering more flights for winter 06/07 and summer 07, though is LXR still planned or has it faced the same fate as Taba did?

MyTravel will resurrect Djerba for the end of the winter/summer.

Ryanair - Milan

Looking at the timetable, Liverpool - Milan isn't available to book. Is the flight operated by a Liverpool based aircraft?

I think that the flight to milan is from liverpool at the minute.

Im sure that if ryanair dropped this route JET2 would pick it up.

I think that berlin will be a berlin based A319 when berlin flights go on sale
making a w into NCL

Wasn't there talk of NCE being the next Easy base?

BA NCL-LGW

looks like the following

NCL-LGW 06:30 08:45 and 18:30
LGW-NCL 08:15 17:45 and 21:30

My guess is that JET2 will start a 2x daily from november

re ryanair flights to bergamo...since march the flight has been 4 days a week to liverpool and 3 to ncl; passenger numbers seem to be good.

Liverpool to bergamo flights are not on sale yet and it would be a surprise if this route was dropped between 2 big ryanair bases. However, as far as I can work out nearly all winter routes are available now so I am not sure!

If they are to stop the LPL/BGY flight then it appears to be a strange decision because for a while now its been common knowledge that AZ have done a moonlight flit from MAN and withdrawn its Milan flights from the winter.

Indeed all the winter routes from Milan seem to be bookable, except Liverpool and Newcastle. However the Bergamo to Charleroi evening flight is now to be operated by a Charleroi aircraft instead of a Bergamo one from the winter.

At the moment the Milan aircraft involved does the following for its afternoon sectors:

Bergamo - Liverpool/Newcastle (1-3-5-7)/(-2-4-6-)
Bergamo - Brussels Charleroi (1234567)

In winter, this aircraft will no longer have to do Charleroi, so instead will be used on new route(s). I don't believe Liverpool or Newcastle will be dropped, but are likely to have different schedules. Maybe later times, different days, etc...

It'll also be interesting to see what new Milan route(s) we could see...

Krakow? Murcia? Weeze?
