To the best of my knowledge, the Atlantic 737 did not arrive ...... just like all the new freight flights didn't arrive ...... just like there were no new departure routes.
Well, it is a rumour network.
There were no diversions received yesterday.

In response to Call100's post of 31st January at 00:07.
The following is taken from Page 34 of Government Inspector Neil Roberts' report in to the 2 million passenger Terminal:
5.148 The IPF is not by itself a medium or long term solution, and the cessation of its use would terminate the package of measures set out in the IPF S106 Agreement.

Thanks Seamus.....That makes it pretty clear then....As it requires it's 'Cessation of use' would this mean they intend to take it down? Or, would they leave it there just in case?

As far as I'm aware no commercial flights have diverted to CVT this week - this is what happens when you shut the terminal and reduce staffing in ATC, Fire service and groundcrew........

The airport will be running the FBO themselves using some of the staff retained from Coventry Airport Handling.
No diversions today that I am aware of, although they did get one at least from Oxford yesterday.

Not true - passenger facilities are in place the intention is not to abandon the existing facilities but to upgrade them. Diversions would be easier to manage than a resumption of regular flights bus them out bus them in.
ATC is at full strength although not all are fully trained up yet. The decision then would be operate 24/7, extend current hours, or offer extensions to current hours on demand depending on viability.
Fire cover will also be raised on demand.

Fire service may be cat 5 but how quickly could it be raised to cat 6 (737/A320) or 7(757/738)? Quick enough to take a divert that's 20 minutes out?
As for ATC being at full strength - don't think the CAA would agree with that assertion if you are still training staff

I thought they were developing a FBO not a full passenger facility to cope with hundreds....Where does it say that?
It's not as simple as bus in, bus out.
It's not like you get any meaningful notice of diversions.
Upgrading the passenger terminal is a bit late, is it not?

something of the previous topics, if cvt got permisson for 1m pax terminal, is this for the temp building that it has now or can it be for a brick and mortar building. If for the latter why cant it be built properly, which in return might interest one or two lc airlines. I remenber back in early 90's cvt had approx 12 or more div's, because bhx was in completely fog mostly ba's 1-11 and the odd 737. Point being cvt at that point did not have any based or regular incoming flights. Did cvt have cat 6 or 7 or 8 then or was the rules different then. one other thing does anyone know what the meeting is about between pilots and cvt is about, which is being held at cvt airplane club ?
