Merging back end systems is usually a big task for companies, even for small companies as they usually have limited spare staff to work on this thing.
I agree such a merger would be a good idea, but long lead times and plenty of preparation may be required for it to be a success

Dundee City Council has just issued an Invitation to Tender for the London PSO service, starting in late March. It requires twice daily service with an aircraft of min 30 seats, morning arrival in London no later than 0830.

Dunno about that but the AMS service carried 2919 pax in September. 60 flights that month so I make that a load factor of 69.5%
I would be interested to know how the flight was being used i.e. inward tourists v/s out bound tourists and the actual number of business passengers

Very peculiar - seemingly based on four incidents, only one of which was an Airprox, and in at least three cases the traffic was known to the Dash crew. Saying the radar cover's not good enough puts a big question mark over the Loganair schedules out of DND - and the Flybe Jersey flights in the past.

It has nothing to do with Radar coverage. That is just a convenient sound bite to get them off the hook. There is nothing unsafe about operating out of Dundee that isn't a threat in many many other airfields.
How do Loganair operate across HIAL then?

Can the Govt scheme that pays the airport fees for DND-AMS be rediverted to help Loganair instead of Flybe without having to go through a lengthy process of public gazetting and rebidding ? I suspect if formal process had to be followed around rebidding then it would be 6 months before Loganair can start flying profitably on the route. Another option is if HIAL maybe launch a route fund supported by the Govt in Edinburgh

I'm sure Scotairways used the D328 into AMS.
Anyway, I just find the whole thing very strange. Was there no investigation into the airfield radar capabilities before Government money was spent on a route development fund? The dash 8 has flown into DND before, as have other similar sized planes on a regular basis, so why was it never an issue before? FlyBE only had an issue after 7 months, including operating the route during the busy summer time when lght aircraft ops at DND are surely at their busiest? Not only that but they even increased the schedule during that time.
It's is frustrating that DND finally got such a route, it proved successful but still it has to end for reasons which seem to be totally resolvable. I hope it comes back.
