I've heard VG themselves say - at the launch of the Geneva route late January - that the current contract runs until the end of this summer season and might not be renewed after that. No news about it ever since, however the ANR-LCY flights that are already on sale are still shown as operated by one of the F50's.

RTM and NTE also on sale and showing as being operated by a F50. Maybe VG have changed there mind and extended the contract especially after the recent announcement that they withdrawing there own brand services from Liege.
Liege flights being cancelled means one plane stationed there is now returning to Antwerp and will be used for charter services again. The longer the WX contract is extended (and it's really up to WX to decide), the less VG has to rely on the occasional charter to fill up the planes that aren't used for their own scheduled flights. Both businesses are somewhat separate but ending the Liege flights does of course mean that the charter department has to work that much harder.

Does anyone know what will happen to the Stobart ATR 72 that WX have when they end the Cardiff flights? Will it move to LCY to take over from some of the F50s or go back to EIR?

London City - Cork
CityJet will launch London City - Cork from September: https://twitter.com/EoinBearla/statu...50799412035584
Will be interesting whether the route will be Avro or Fokker 50 operated. An already competitive market and a small higher yield market make me wonder how long the route will last.

Cityjet's routes for the upcoming winter season - 8 routes from London City:
Amsterdam: 9 daily
Antwerp: 3-4 daily
Cork: 3 daily
Dublin: 7 daily
Florence: 1 daily
Nantes: 1 daily (AR8 instead of F50)
Paris: 4 daily
Rotterdam: 3-4 daily
Considering Cityjet was/(is?) loss-making, what is the future of this network (BA is competing on 4 routes)?
Any update on the upgraded fleet as announced a year ago?

Don't really understand the business rationale for a slogan of "Fly like a star whoever you are"
Cityjet's main focus is LCY, an airport with (apart from off peak), seriously expensive fees and with lots of people travelling on business rather than for pleasure. Virtually everyone working in Canary Wharf has a big ego, even if they are actually quite ordinary.
The new slogan says to me that "we both know that you're actually a very ordinary person living a mundane life but you too can join the jet-set and pretend to be special for a couple of hours". Fine for an airline aiming at the mass market or first-time-in-many-years trip to a Caribbean beach, but I struggle to understand how this slogan is relevant to Cityjet whose home airport by virtue of its fees tends to see a more elitist passenger base.
Anyone able to give a better understanding of what the marketing is meant to be about ?

CityJet close to securing 15 new aircraft in ?270m deal
(1) 15 new aircraft for €270m = €18m per aircraft -> second hand E90 or heavily discounted SSJ?
(2) 60 per cent wet leasing and 40 per cent its own routes -> 6 aircraft remaining for LCY or any other own route?

A year or so ago I was relatively hopeful that they may purchase the Bombardier CS 100/300. Or perhaps even the MRJ, and ac that suits their profile like a glove and for which they might have obtained an excellent deal being a relatively early customer.
Then everything went quite quiet and it actually looked like the Avros might soldier on.
With this recent announcement, and having researched Flako, it looks like early model used e-jets is the plan. A step forward from the 4 holers but not a huge step.

Actually, in 2014 Falko aparently singned letters of intent for up to 24 Bombardier C-Series. The CS100 model was mentioned.
This is still only a commitment and no firm order has been signed as far as I can see. Nonetheless, it makes this more interesting.

SAS has announced today that they have agreed a deal with Cityjet for the wet lease and sale of Blue1. Cityjet will buy 100% of Blue1 from SAS. As part of the agreement Cityjet/Blue1 will continue to operate at least 8 new 90 seat CRJ900's on behalf of SK starting March 2016. The lease agreement is for 3 years with the option of a further 6 aircraft being added to the deal.

In fact, what will they do after March? If I understand the way this deal is set up, it's not Blue1 but Cityjet itself that is to become a wet lease provider to SAS and the owner of the 8 new planes. In other words, they didn't necessarily need to buy Blue1 to be able to provide these leases. The purchase brings no planes with it and I suspect Cityjet will operate these flights with their AOC and using Irish crews.
I'm sure SAS insisted on them buying Blue1 for the deal to go ahead, but it's not at all clear what role that company will play once sold.
