I'm not suprised I don't suppose the demand was or ever will be there for so many flights.Still showing twice daily round New Year when I'm travelling. I just wonder will Waterford recover back routes and passengers next year after all this cutting back.

Looks like the people of the IoM and the City have heeded the Aer Arann comments re use of the IOM - LCY service.

Waterford Service

According to this article, Aer Arann will be flying WAT to BHX next year. Has this been served before?

Yeah until quite recently, it went shortly after Aer Arann pulled out of Galway.

Hello,

I am rated on ATR (1000 on type) and would be interested by a position in AER ARANN.
Does the airline recruit for the time being?

Thanks

Whoever wrote that article is an idiot, and a lazy one at that. First it says E tihad is starting a price war at Dublin Airport, but then goes on to list the airlines that its going to 'war' with, none of which it competes with. Aer Lingus don't fly to the Middle East, and Qantas & BA don't even fly from Dublin.

Then we're told E tihad will start flying from Dublin from January (presumably they mean Emirates who don't even get a mention in the article), despite the fact they've been flying from Dublin for the last 4 years.

You'll find that the media - and in particular the print media - are very very lazy when it comes to finding out facts about the airline industry. I've read things like aer lingus having four engined Fokker 50's, Airbus 330's that fly direct non stop to Australia and further down the page the same A330 just about makes it to East Coast USA. As the saying goes, "Don't believe what you read in the papers'.

It looks amazing. Be good to see what they've done to the cabin.

i hope this has now made them strong enough to appear back up north again, they have been absent from belfast for quite some time. maybe since EI is here now it will be more attractive for them
shannon airport has belfast listed as a route they would like to launch, maybe aer lingus regional is the right person

just booked flights from man to ork for september, the on line tickets say aer lingus, the flight code is aer lingus, but it say's this flight will be operated by aer arann.
p.s. is the whole fleet being re-painted into aer lingus colours or just the atr42's?

There are 6 ATR 72 painted in Aer Lingus colours. Flights are sold by EI and are known as Aer Lingus Regional operated by Aer Arann since March 2010.

The remaining Aer Arann aircraft currently operating Aer Arann flights will also transfer to Aer Lingus Regional. By around June all flights will be Aer Lingus Regional and no Aer Arann flights at all.

@ ei-eidw, thanks for the quick reply and info, are the cabins being refitted as well or left how they are?

The Aer Arann aircraft that are being painted are haveing a refit. Don't think the current Aer Lingus painted ones will be but they are new enough.
