BE have further cut SNN-GLA to 2 weekly from December before the break in the new year, 2 weekly also only returning until the summer schedule when the third weekly is back. Will be surprised if it stays for summer 14 with the changes at BE.

I thought they would keep it at three a week for the winter to try to let the route develop, the fact that they haven't suggests they've already given up on it. On the one occasion I flew the route the load was under thirty and that was a Sunday, so I expect the Wednesday bookings for the winter were especially low. However I suspect this may not be the only Irish flybe route dropped as part of the upcoming restructure of the airline.

Looks like Ryanair are getting rid of another B737 / EI-DPA parked on the ramp in SNN for the last few days minus its titles. Anyone know where it is destined?

EI to Malaga twice weekly.

Also mentioned is "Aer Lingus will increase frequencies on transatlantic routes from Shannon to New York and Boston, almost doubling the schedule and operating year-round."

Why dont you do us all a favour and tell us where these flights originate and fly to in plain language instead of 3 letter codes.

EI regional to announce a new route on Wednesday (a "revived route"), so one assumes its BRS...

Another transatlantic service to be announced shortly too apparently

Fantastic news regarding RE! I wonder how much USA transit passengers they hope to attract? A quick expedia search for New York and Boston flights during the summer months reveals that EI are indeed very competitive at BHX and BRS, whilst not so much at MAN.

The transfer market for BRS/BHX will be quite good for the SNN routes as those 2 airports do not have much Trans-Atlantic offering (none at BRS and just 1 daily United to Newark for BHX).

The MAN issue is that for the SNN route, the only selling points are BOS and the pre-clearance, as MAN has quite a large Trans-Atlantic offering.

RE : GLA

Not one bit surprised. The route, and the airline had absolutely zero presence in the region. A complete unknown.for most people and there was little promotion done on the route locally imo.

Is SNN the only place this is happening with FR? 4500 seats over 2 weekends for free for a 40 minute flight to meet Santa. Good PR move.

Latest News From Shannon Airport > Ryanair and Shannon Airport combine to make magic of Christmas come alive with FREE Santa flights this weekend and next.

Might be wrong but when they released those schedules a while back I thought it was six weekly at the beginning? In any event if it wasn't demand must be slightly higher with the increased frequencies.

Jack your correct, it was planned to be 6 weekly but EI dropped to 5 weekly for April and May but now returned to 6 weekly for that period.
